How's the taste? I fear liquid medications because I think cough syrup is so nasty.

It taste like cherry medicine, a cough syrup kind of taste. Though it does work well for nausea.

No need to refrigerate after opening. :-)

I just checked the ingredients listed and there is no mention of gluten one way or the other. I’ve been using this medication for years and it does really work well. On the front it says: no drowsiness, no aspirin, no alcohol & no caffeine. Hope this helps you somewhat. If you want I can send you a picture of the back of box that has Drug Facts etc.
