Great watch for all occasions
This is a great automatic mechanical watch for just little over 300 USD. As is known to the watch community, Seiko is an ancient watchmaker that existed the same time as Audemars Piguet and even before Rolex and has an amazing horological value in the history. Seiko had seriously shaken the Swiss watchmakers and caused the historical Quartz revolution. So I won't even bother with the word "fashion watch" on this one because this is not, as some other reviewer described. For little over 300 USD, you are getting the Seiko 4R35 movement, (not the 6R15 as they used in the JDM counterpart), which is decent, with about +6S/day on the one I got. This is right on the edge of COSC +6S/day for the standard of the Swiss makes. So I'll say the accuracy is not that great but good enough. In case you don't know, only 3% of the Swiss makes are certified by COSC anyways. The dial of the watch is very detailed, especially the beautiful sun ray pattern, each ray covers exactly one minute. And if you look closer to the dial, all the metal parts are finely polished. The dial is in silver/grey color, not as blue as showed in their official pictures. And I think this is one problem of most of those good old brand, that they cannot take a good picture of their watch what so ever. Under the sun, it has a very faint blue tint, and that is amazingly beautiful. The hands are craft in the attention to details as well, the second hand is slightly bent at the tip to compensate the shape of the dome glass. From the back, you can see the movement and the very carefully polishing pattern on the parts as well. The second hand is hackable, and you can also manual wind the watch instead of rely on your body movement to auto wind it, which added a little bit more fun to it.Of course there are shortcomings of this watch. First of all, I'm not trying to compare this "Seiko" with "Grand Seiko" or "Credor", which are the two luxury brands under Seiko, since the price are not even on the same level. But overall, this might be the best mechanical watch you can get. The Hardlex crystal is little bit disappointing, but I understand Seiko is trying to segregate the lower end watch with their Grand Seiko. The hour and minute hands are slightly misaligned, but you won't really notice it unless you are doing a serious review and put the watch under microscope like me. And the OEM strap is as bad as their JDM counterparts. Corners have been cut in order to achieve the price point. So if you got the watch, unless you really like the plastic feeling blue stitch strap that is borderline offensive, get a real alligator or lizard strap and it will look great and fit most occasions.

Beautiful..
When I first discovered horology and timekeeping, I fell in love pretty quickly. Maybe 15 years ago is when I got into watches pretty big time. I should’ve grabbed a SARB065 when I stumbled upon it but just never pulled the trigger and moved on to much more expensive pieces. The SRPE43 is a nice replacement to the previous sarb065. The strap is just as terrible and the movement is worse than its predecessor though which are things to consider.I will say though that it’s a strap monster and easily replaceable. I highly recommend picking this up if you have at least a 6.5 inch wrist, and are looking for a pretty dress watch to wear either casually or professionally. It’s just a great piece and it holds time extremely well for the price point. I get about a 5-10 second +/- on the regular which is solid for the 4R35

So Beautiful!
It was love at first sight for me. This green dial is phenomenal and after just three days of wearing it, I have lost count of the compliments it has received.IMO the wrist strap is poor. I also ordered a Barton replacement 20mm classic black leather with gold buckle and that looks and feels so much better than the stock strap. Many online reviews complain about the lack of the sapphire crystal (which is tougher than the stock) especially at this price point, but so far, so good. I'll primarily be wearing this when I am dressed up, which is not that often (I'm retired - no day job) so I am not that concerned. And really, if I (or you) wanted to, the sapphire crystals are not that expensive and could be easily added. This is not a diver so keep it as dry as possible. It is rated to just 5 bar so an occasional splash or a few rain drops should be AOK. Just don't shower with it. ;-)The users' manual is a download from Seiko. It is very easy to set (there are a few rules to follow for the date function) and after three days it has kept perfect time to the second. The second hand can be stopped so there are no issues to set to an exact time. It is automatic but can also be hand-wound (consult the manual) easily enough. I registered it on the Seiko web site - easy-peasey, for the three-year warranty.I absolutely LOVE this watch! It is my one and done for a dress watch.

Amazing watch
I can not say enough about this watch. It is easily the most beautiful watch in my collection. It’s definitely a head turner. The watch is accurate, has a smooth movement, it’s not too big or too small, and the way the light reflects off of the face is just stunning. It’s definitely a win for Seiko!

Nice watch - cheap band
On first blush, watch is attractive and was easy to set. The band on this model is patent leather and leaves a lot to be desired. The reported accuracy for this model is not great but time will tell.

Gorgeous
Excellent first addition to what I believe will be a very good future collection. The watch is beautiful to look at. The moment is very quiet.Only down side is the strap. But everybody knows Seiko straps aren’t the best. Changing the strap is also annoying.

Love it! Great look, quality and value.
Love the look, quality and size of the watch. I know others dislike the band, but I love it. I like the clasp, fit, and the look. Yes, the band has a high sheen to it - the same as a pair of patent leather shoes, only in dark brown. Personally, I feel the band goes well with the polish of the case, and the brilliant dark green dial. I have a small wrist, and typically wear vintage watches - but the watch is not too large on my wrist, and the band works well.

Seiko Automatic
Very good casual watch. Keeps good time. Instructions are available at Seiko.com. You will need the case# to find the manual of instructions.
