Works with bread machine, but there's something you should know first
We got a 1-1/2lb bread machine last year for super cheap on Amazon. So far we were only able to make "bricks" using gluten free (GF) recipes that came with the machine. After receiving Bob's mix the results were exceptional. The bread is substantial yet has enough moisture to be soft and easy to eat. Unlike some store bought GF breads, this bread actually feels like it's healthy. I think we got lucky with the bake settings though.Intuitively, instead of using the GF setting on the machine, we used the wholewheat setting set to "dark". However, it was almost a failure! At first, I followed the machine instructions to add liquids first then the flour. But after the kneading cycle stopped, that there was still flour on top. To fix this I shut off the machine and stirred the contents by hand and restarted the machine. That did the trick! I was a little worried that the bread was going to rise too high for the machine, but it was perfect. Perhaps this would work better in a 2lb machine that could pull all the ingredients under the mixing paddle. Next time I'll make sure to premix the ingredients a litte. The only thing I don't like about this product is the price, but that's the case with everything these days. If it was available in a bigger box of say 12 bags I would probably buy it if the savings would justify it. Overall I'm happy to find this easy way to make good GF bread and am looking forward to the next loaf!

Best bread ever
Having been mostly gluten free for a few years now, what we missed most was good bread. Gluten free quick breads are easy enough and can be tasty, but for sandwiches and toast not so much. Our local markets have a variety of gluten free breads, but we haven't liked most of them. For one thing, they usually have lots of seeds that make life difficult for denture wearers. This mix by Bob's Mill is easy to prepare, tastes fantastic, and slices about as thin as you want to slice it. Grilled cheese sandwiches made from this bread are divine. You know the bread is fresh when you pulled it from the oven yourself. I slice the bread the day after making it and freeze it in two slice packages. Then when I want to make a sandwich I microwave the slices between two plates for about 30 seconds to thaw it. The crusts are easy enough to eat but still have a crusty texture. This bread is a game changer for us. Fair warning though - not for vegans - the recipe requires 3 egg whites and 1 whole egg. Also, it won't suit you if you don't like butter. The sorghum flour gives it a sweetness no sugar could duplicate.

Yummy!
I have tried lots of GF store bought breads, the ones that fit our budget are either 1/2 loaves or taste like cardboard. So I bought a Hamilton Beach bread machine and a box of this mix. I have made 2 loaves with wonderful success. The packaging doesn't include bread machine instructions, just regular oven instructions. (Hence the 4 stars instead of 5) I went to my bread machine manual and followed it's directions. I used the same amount of oil, water, and egg as the package called for, but I put it in my machine in the order my manual recommended.Liquids first, dry mix second then made a "well" for the yeast then added it by placing it in the well. I set the machine on GF, with a light crust on 1.5 lb loaf and let it do it's job. 3 hours later our house smells yummy, and the bread is done. I let it cool several hours then slice it, PRO TIP: chill it first in the fridge to get thinner slices.I love that it includes a packet of yeast. That makes it so much easier.Overall it's a hearty bread great for sandwiches, toast and croutons. It is not a sweet fluffy bread like regular sandwich bread like bunny bread, but honestly I prefer a not sweet bread. It is a semi dense bread, your not going to get super thin slices, it reminds me of a deli style fresh bread. My husband and kids all love this bread. It's great with butter & jam, or cream cheese, and makes a great sandwich. It lasts roughly 5 days on the counter before mold grows (I'm in TN), but you can put it in the fridge or slice then freeze it. I got a lot of slices out of it, I cut them roughly 1/2 thick.Overall it's a great mix, it's easy to use, fits our budget, and tastes wonderful, much better than store bought cardboard they try to pass off as GF bread around here.

Love it for cinnamon rolls
Great product. I love using it for making GF cinnamon rolls. It creates a very soft dough that’s far superior to other mixes I’ve used.

This is the best Gluten Free Bread Mix available!
I am gluten intolerant and have been looking for great GF bread for ten years. I have tried many different brands, experimenting to find a GF bread that I could enjoy eating. When I discovered Bob's Red Mill GF bread mix I was extremely happy. Over the years I have experimented with it, adding different fresh and dried herbs and spices to give it more flavor. Each year I get braver and add other ingredients to make the bread even better. I find the bread is best when eaten within the first 2-3 days, so I freeze half the loaf and then thaw it later. My granddaughter and great grandson both are celiacs and I am enjoying baking bread for them. I also have purchased the smaller, foil containers to bake the bread in, which makes it easier to share with them. When I begin making the bread, my first two ingredients are the 110 degree water and the yeast, which I pour on top of the water and let it sit about 5 minutes, and then add the eggs, bread mix, etc. This seems to help the bread rise faster and higher. I no longer use my bread machine - I find my bread does better just cooking it in the oven. Best of luck to you! Be sure and try Bob's GF Pizza crust - it's so much better than cauliflower crust. I also recommend their GF pancake and pie crust mix!
