Dangerous product
I have had these glasses for about 4 months. This morning, rather than adding coffee to my thermal mug, I added juice. I used a spoon and stirred the juice up a bit. I drank the juice about half way down, and the next thing I noticed was a texture other than the juice in my mouth. At first, I thought it was fruit. Then, I noticed a pain in the top part of my throat, and realized it was a piece of glass. My partner then encouraged me to lodge my finger in my throat in order to vomit. I was getting frightened because blood was coming out with my saliva as I was spitting and trying to get rid of the glass lodged in my throat. Luckily, it came out.I am writing to you first of all to inform you how alarming and scary this was, particularly with coronavirus rampant in NYC hospitals.Hopefully, I won’t need a trip to the ER. I am monitoring how my stomach feels and I am drinking water.Secondly, this product is extremely unsafe. If the glass breaks upon a stirring room temperature juice, then this obviously a malfunction with the product. I do hope that no one else has been injured, and I will do everything in my capacity as a consumer to make sure this product is removed from the marketplace.I sent and email to the company, but no word back.

Careful, they sometimes break in dishwasher.
My wife and I really like these glasses. We're super careful with them, typically use the dishwasher to clean them and generally have been quite happy with them. That is, until last week when one of mine broke randomly in the dishwasher. We do not stack them, we don't put anything in them other than liquids, and the inside bottom shattered out.Given that these are rated as dishwasher safe, we reached out to Bodum so they could help us out. They said no, this type of issue is not covered, even though the glasses are clearly labeled as dishwasher safe.I then showed them pictures that illustrated there wasn't any impact trauma or anything that would indicate that the glasses were mistreated in any way, and was only put through a dishwasher, on normal settings, spaced well.Andre from Bodum didn't even bother to reply to my email. So yeah - hope you don't get a manufacturing defect in your glass. If you do, you're on your own, and Bodum will ignore you.

Warning: These Glasses are Dangerous!
We've known for some time that these glasses are fragile and have gone through several but we have continued to use them because we like the thermal quality. Recently however we were serving cocktails and the dropping of ice cubes into the glass broke the inner layer. We didn't realise this until our guest was nearly finished. My wife saw the crack through the outer glass and sure enough there was a piece of glass floating along with the ice cubes. Our guest could easily have swallowed it.We do like these glasses for their design and functionality but this company needs to own up to the fragility and the dangers of their product.

These are not Fragile. They are glass and treated as such will last a lifetime.
This is my first review. I am writing this to address what I feel is a false narrative about these glasses as being frail and easy to break. I have had them for three months, hosted multiple parties and used them every morning for coffee - stirring them with metal spoons (wooden spoons...really?) with not a hint of problems. I cannot even imagine breaking one of these unless I were to drop one on the floor. We have Granite counters everywhere in our house and if I were to "place" one down hard enough to break one of these glasses it would cause me to get an eye appointment to address failing vision. Ten years from now we will still have a set of 6 intact and working every day for coffee. We even take them in the car when we want to drink a cup of coffee while running errands. Do not be afraid of these and not buy them because they are "fragile". They are NOT. They are made of glass. If you know how to handle glass and treat them you will be golden. If you normally use a Stanley Stainless Steel thermos to drink your coffee you may find them lacking, but otherwise get them and enjoy them. Just treat them like good glasses. We microwave with them and clean them in the dishwasher no problems...
