Fox 40Super Force Finger Grip Whistle

HA! I bought this for my grandson who is an avid hockey player. He was thrilled to get this whistle. The quality is excellent. It isn't too loud since he is only seven and hasn't figured out how to really blow hard into it. Thankfully his hockey area is down the basement so it's not annoying when he is using it.

Web reviews about whistles are difficult to do because digital cameras tend to clip loud sounds. After watching quite a few, I decided on the Fox 40 Sharx because of one wilderness guide who tried to test various whistles, grumbled about the lousy audio fidelity of his videos, and said that among all whistles, he keeps returning to the Sharx for everyday carry. So when my blue-and orange model arrived, I went behind our condo unit to test it while my wife remained in the screened porch one floor above me. When I blew the whistle out over the woods behind us, I could definitely hear it through the padded stereo earphones that I wore for protection. And when I went back upstairs, she grimaced slightly and said, "Yep... It's loud!" She wanted LOUD for emergency use and also liked the size and design of the thing. So she's now looking forward to getting her own purple-and-green version! Just be aware that pealess whistles emit a shriek whose loudness depends solely on how much air you blow through them. So in an emergency, blow HAAAAARRRRRD... you can't be timid with pealess whistles. (But don't blow them near someone's ears unless they're trying to do you harm!)

Easy to apply and are holding up well and still working after a year. No issues. Good product.

Loud, low and authoritative tone. Turns heads like a high-pitched football (soccer) squeaker can't. Takes a big blow to get the best out of it, but that means a big range of varied peeps to convey different messages.I'm a Brit and so genetically an Acme Thunderer fan. This is right up there.

Ich pfeife als Schiedsrichter Floorballspiele der 2.Bundesliga und habe bisher die normale Fox40 benutzt. Mir ist aber auf Dauer und speziell in lauten Hallen (also der Lärm der Trommeln und Zuschauer) der sehr hohe Pfeifton dieser unangenehm im Ohr hängen geblieben - und sie war teilweise zu leise.Die Super-Force hingegen ist prima laut und in der gesamten Halle auch bei Lärm gut vernehmbar. Die Verarbeitung ist solide, die Fingerbügel lassen sich mit leichtem Druck anpassen. Ich kann nur jedem empfehlen der öfter pfeift sich dieses Gerät zuzulegen - ich will es bereits nach drei Einsätzen nicht mehr missen.
