Q: Are the side pockets big enough to fit a water bottle?

Hello AD Amore; The side pockets are not small but not large either. Only a slim water bottle will fit. The bags design is not really made for a water bottle.The side pockets have a cover; so really it is used for storing small objects rather then water bottle. A water bootle will fit in the main area but that means you cannot zip the inside.It is a nice bag, rustic looking and served me well for my holidays carrying all the necessary gadgets from Ipad to Iphone to camera and passports; etc. Hope this helps you.Cheers

Q: How long is the strap?

The strap isn't super long to me, I am a bigger bodied person so it can be why, I like my crossbody bags to be a little longer so it actually hangs, it fits better as an over the shoulder bag for me then a cross body.
