This is a great little car kettle. It brings water up to a light boil in about 15 minutes (which is good for something that plugs into a cigarette lighter).It's simple to use and fits in a car cup holder.

We never stayed out of coffee and tea from way to Fl to Canada. Works well, takes about 20 minutes to boil the water.

Bought this for van life and it's been great so far! Much easier and more convenient than firing up the jet boil everyday.Pros:Lightweight and compact (makes about 16oz max)Simple and worksCons:I really don't understand the placement of the power plug on the device. I don't know what they were going for but they definitely got that wrong. It won't fit in a cup holder with the plug in (would need a large cup holder without plug).I wish I could drink from / make tea in it (too hot and awkward)I wish the insulation was better (entire device gets hot, but not too hot to hold)Mine does not shut off when the water boils, it just keeps going but not a big deal for me.Power consumption:Being off-grid power consumption is important. Unfortunately, boiling water takes a lot of energy (if you're using this with your car running you have nothing to worry about)The device uses 88 watts and takes me about 20 minutes to get hot (not boiling) water. So it's about 30 Wh (2.5 Ah at 12v) to heat water.A temperature setting with auto-shutoff would be great to save some power but I don't expect that at this price point.Bottom line, it works and it's a great alternative to jet boil if you can spare the power.

Heats fast and keeps my drinks hot on long road trips. Only wish there was a version like this with both USB charger and Wall plug. I recommend it

Worked okay at first. Took a long time to boil, 25 minutes +. The button was always a bit cheap feeling and didn't take long before it popped right back out when you go to turn it on. Had to pry the button out and rig it to stay pushed in just to get it to work at all. Now, it blew a 12v fuse, the wire plug end burnt out and it is unusable. Can't recommend this product

I read other reviews of it taking 20ish minutes to boil.My first time using it i only put about 8oz in it and I had boiling water in 10 minutes.I travel a lot in my Tesla and sleep in it often. Gas station coffee just wasn't cutting it!I made hot ramen, oatmeal and mocha with it. All hot and ready to go within 20 minutes.I do find myself giving the water a swirl every few minutes but I don't think it's necessary, just something I do.In this picture, I filled to the max and waited about 20 minutes. It was enough for my Mocha and my oatmeal! Outside temp was 43° but it's so windy it feels like 38°. A hot meal when there's nothing else around is heaven.I've used it 3 times now and I LOVE IT! I have been using it for 2 months now almost every day. It's a great product. If you like coffee, tea, oatmeal, pretty much anything you make with hot water this is what you need in your car. It take about 13-14 minutes when half full (1 cup of tea) for the water to get really hot (almost boiling) and your instant coffee or tea is ready. If you travel/camp or go on trails this would be your morning oatmeal or coffee after trail run. My car of course needs to run for it to work but 13 minutes is not a very long time to wait. Overall really happy with this product.

Yes, it will heat water. After 25 minutes, I lost patience - water still wasn't hot enough for me, but it was tolerable. Husband and I had to take turns, as it didn’t heat enough water for 2 very tiny cups of coffee or cocoa. Maybe a cup and a half, so I had to wait another 25 minutes to heat mine enough to be useable. I did get it on the verge of boiling once, but it took 40 minutes! Would not recommend.
