First of all this is the first kit knife I built, the eleven I built was from flat bar stock. The direction are misleading. The bolsters are too short on the top and the bottom. I pinned the bolsters together and squared them to each other . The area that the wood meets the bolsters was uneven and needed to be matched up. There was no stock on the top of the bolsters to grind the the bolster to the top and bottom of the blade . I added a white G-10 spacer but don’t use black epoxy ,it will bleed thru. First time using burl wood for scales . I used tru-oil to finish the wood . The order that’s in the directions is wrong, you pin or peen them in place first then drill the holes one side at a time , a couple of 1 c-clams work for this at HF .I would recommend this to a beginner, but it would be even better if the bolsters were long enough to grind the top and bottom together. The sheath is still in the box ,I didn’t think much of it looked really cheap ,so it’s a no go for me ,I’ll make my own out of veg tan leather or kydex . Fun afternoon project. Kit went together well. Bolsters were a tiny bit small for the blade profile so a 1/4 mm of blade is outside the bolster in a spot. I could file the finger choil but It's not worth fighting the hardened steel for perfection. Scales were not book pages but for the price point the burl is pretty darn nice. I added green g10 liners to the build just to make it a bit more eye catching.Blade was ok sharp from the factory but after re-edging a tiny bit and stropping it cuts 1/8 inch paper strips.I'll make another because my son has already adopted this one.

The steel seems good the scales are beautiful but!!!, the predrilled holes were too small for the pins and were slightly offset from the stainless part of the scales!!! Be careful and check for fit before gluing and assembling or you could ruin your pins like I did and have to get new ones! Plus I had to go through the cleaning up a epoxy mess!

Everything was included in the kit as advertised. Instructions were minimal, but they got the knife together just fine. I am a beginner so filing and shaping the knife were pretty time consuming using only hand tools. An angle grinder or belt sander would have made a huge difference.

I bought this kit to make my first custom knife. I used all the parts the kit provided and it turned out pretty well. I gave the knife to my father as a gift for when he goes hunting. I’m very happy with how it turned out. The blade comes pretty sharp so I wrapped it with tape while assembling it all.
