UPDATE AFTER 3 MONTHS OF USE: ZOMG this is the best office chair ever made. All criticisms withdrawn, all praise to X-Chair. I have a bulged disc in my back and this is the only office chair that has ever made long sits comfortable.This chair is pretty great. Assembly is pretty simple, and it is the most comfortable office chair I have ever experienced. The leather is a nice touch, and the back support is great for me, since I have back issues. The one problem I experienced was that the instructions about how you adjust the chair appear to be outdated, or from a different model, since they refer to levers that my chair does not have. Fortunately, the chair pretty much came properly adjusted for me, so I don't really need to know how to adjust it. It would still be nice to know what controls do what however. The best feature of this chair is the infinite recline. I need an office chair that can be set so that the back is pretty much at a perfect right 90 degree angle with the seat and perpendicular to the floor. I find that most chairs have the back tilted 10 or 15 degrees back, in which case I find myself hunching forwards without any back support. The X-Chair's back starts out pretty much at a 90 degree angle to the seat, and then moves back as you apply force. I have the resistance set to very high, so that I have to apply force with my feet to tilt back, which is exactly what I wanted—a back that is straight and supportive unless I use my feet to force it into recline. In recline, with the tension set right, my weight is perfectly counterbalanced, and I float mid-recline. The lumbar support on the highest setting works great for me.

Bought this chair for my wife. Her job is intense, and she spends most of her time in front of a computer. In her case, a quality chair is worth the cost. The seller had the chair shipped out immediately and it arrived early. I've seen reviews that putting this chair together is difficult and the quality is poor. First, if you can't put this chair together blindfolded, give your tools away before you hurt someone. Btw -chair comes with only tool required to assemble it. Second, I'd like to see the chair(s) that are of a higher quality. Great looking design as well. My wife loves the chair. She is in her first week, probably still fine tuning the numerous adjustments. She loves the massage/heat feature. She is always cold, so no need for the cooling option. Bottom line, great seller, great chair - don't let the folks with negative reviews scare you off. If you can justify the cost, we believe it's worth it...

Having a desk job calls for a comfy office chair. This one checks all the boxes. Every part of the chair is adjustable... seat, back, arms, height, etc. The back provides great lumbar support. There is also a headrest, which we have ordered but not received. I received as a gift. Not sure I would have bought for myself but I am glad to have received.

I'm sad to say I'm not very happy with this chair. I'd been researching chairs and reading reviews for a while. I decided on this chair because it was said to be the best chair for people with back problems. The icing on the cake was that orange is my favorite color. I know good chairs are pricey, and I was finally willing to shell out some money for a great chair. I ordered it. It even arrived a week early! I was so excited. The assembly was very straight forward, and I put it together in no time. I sat on it. I said, "ahhhhhhh" as I fell backward and let the SciFloat Infinite Recline do it's thing. That part was really great. I followed several tutorials to get the chair adjusted to suit my comfort, but it still doesn't feel quite right. I should be able to feel the lumbar support jutting into my lower back, but none of the preset positions do that. My particular pain point IS my low back, and this was most of the reason I wanted this chair. The description said it would move with me. It does, but I'm not getting the support that I need.The worst part about this chair is that it is NOT comfortable to sit in all day. I wish I would have known that there was a version of this chair on the manufacturer's website that came with extra padding. I definitely would have paid an extra $100 for that. If the chair were more comfortable, I might be able to overlook the lumbar issue. For as much as this chair costs, I should be happier. Sadly, I regret this.

Overall great chair. The head adjustment piece needs improvement in my opinion

Bought a Herman Miller Embody at same price, better product than this X Chair. No real lumbar support. It just “touches” your back to make it feel like it might support it. Don’t spend on this item. The Embody just rolled out of box with no assembly…and I am mechanically inclined.

Im mad I waited so long to get one of these chairs.. if you have been waiting dont..This chair is very well made built like a tank easy to put together and so adjustable and comfortable for my home office.. 8 hrs is a breeze sitting in this chair.. you wont be disappointed

First off, no need to pay the extra money to have someone assemble it for you. It's quite easy! Their customer service was amazing, no long hold times, I was able to speak with a person immediately who was very knowledgeable and answered my question within seconds. The chair is fantastic! I love sitting in the big cushy executive chairs but since I have lower back pain, thought I should get something with lumbar support. Instead of taking the less expensive mesh version, I opted for the leather which combined the comfy squishyness with the ergonomic support I was needing. Everything is customizable! It's so good! I was hesitant about spending that kind of money but am glad I did as I see that it will be keeping me comfortable and happy for quite some time!
