Insta360 X3 Action Camera, 1/2" Sensor, 5.7K 360 Capture, 72 MP 360 Photo, 4K Single Lens Mode

The media could not be loaded. I was intrigued by this camera ever since I saw the promo videos over the internet. I was planning to buy a mirrorless initially for my travel photography, but when I saw the capabilities of a 360 cam, I decided to add this to my camera kit. I am writing this review after 2 weeks of using the cam.Pros-Form factor- Small and light. This can be easily mounted and used for capturing a wide variety of activities.Stability- Insane, the horizon lock and target lock features are superb. Have not captured a blurry shot yet on this device.Picture quality- Amazing, works really well in well lighted situations. You cannot pixel peep on the images as this is a action cam first and not a high end dslr. I am yet to use this in a night time situation.Video quality- Superb, captures at 5.7k and 4k with frame rates between 30 to 60 fps. Neatly stitches out the selfie stick in 360 videos and Me mode, looks like a floating camera in the final shots.Display- Great addition of the large touch screen. But you will have to pump brightness to full while using in broad daylight.Modes- Comes with a bunch of different modes in both 360 and 180. It will keep you pretty busy so they have added a quick setting button.Software- Connecting the camera to the phone was a breeze. The app is well designed, comes with tutorials for different types of content. The cam connects using both BT and Wifi, so you can use your phone as another screen. Viewing and editing content is also good.Cons-Durability- Bulging lens on both sides so getting protection in form of lens guard and camera cover is a must. This is not rugged like a GoPro and requires careful handling. There is a claimed water resistance but I personally will not expose this to water as I do not trust the capabilities in this area.Heating- The first time I used the cam, I noticed that it was getting very warm. 2 firmware updates later, heating has definitely gone down. Have noticed the heating more when camera is being used with mobile connection. The dual connection of WiFI and BT seems to contribute.Battery life- Decent, but goes down if you are using with mobile connection. You will get a longer battery life if you rely on the cam's display alone. Charging is quick due to USB C type connection.User friendly- There is a steep learning curve here. Using the camera to capture content is easy but editing 360 degree videos is a different ball game. The phone app has limitations so you cannot process 4k videos on that. You have to use the computer software which still needs some working in the area of user friendliness. The software has AI features which makes extracting images and videos easy but you will have to look into some tutorials to understand the full workflow correctly and get the maximum out of the camera. We are used to dealing with flat files upto now, so this is definitely a different ball game all together.That said, I do not feel it is a difficult skill to master. After 2 weeks of use, I feel that I am learning more about the camera and its capabilities. The learning curve makes it more exciting to spend time on this and master the various capture and editing skills. This is not for people who like point, shoot and upload. This is for the ones who are willing to go the extra step to learn and use creativity to create pics and videos.

The media could not be loaded. I brought this with few concerns, that the quality of the output would meet my expectations. But I'm really surprised with this. This is just mind blowing. You can literally do crazy shots and actions with this tiny creature. More over the quality of the output, you may end up with having lot of fun with this guy ! The output stability for video is much appreciated.After all if you are a bit caring person, you might also think to make this guy more safe while shooting. His lens are more protruded outwards, which makes more vulnerable for damages or scratches. I suggest to put some lens guard, so that we can sit with peace of mind.Battery backup is also fine, as it is small and doing it's job well. You can expect 2-3 hours max if you are using this heavily. And the charging hour took almost 60-90 minutes for me from 20% to 100%.I've gone through many reviews in amazon, where few are got exhausted with the output quality. But if you are good at playing with manual mode operations, that would resolve the issue to an extent in low light conditions. Also, this guy gets heated up a bit more. This may depends on our room condition as here it is very hot these days.If you are interested in this product, be in mind that you won't get any accessories. The X3 package includes, X3 Camera with battery, Type-C Charging cable (No adapter), Pouch with a lens cleaning cloth and few documentations with a sticker of insta 360.You have to purchase the stick, and all other action accessories seperately which may cost more. But yes, that won't make you disappointed indeed. 😇

If anyone forced me to chose between a GoPro and an Insta360 camera, I would chose Insta360 with my eyes closed. The video quality, video stabilization, 360 degree POV, noise reduction everything is really awesome. The only downside of this camera is its battery backup which is low when shot on 5k and above. We have to carry an extra set of batteries and also basic accessories like lens protector and other mounts are not there which should be in the box as we are paying a lot for it.Anyways, the camera is really good and I am thinking of using only this while recording all my videos from now on.

It's app will not supported most of the phone. If you are looking to buy check your phone otherwise you need Laptop or Computer to edit it's videos. And also videos quality is not good.

Camera is good but in low light conditions it does not perform so well.
