Excellent Rat Trap
I was having problems with rats in my chicken coop but could not put out poison due to the cats and not wanting them to get poisoned by eating rats that were poisoned. I purchased this live catch trap and it works GREAT! Three rats in 3 nights. It's easy to set, it's small, and light weight! I should have bought 2!

It does the trick!
The media could not be loaded. I would recommend taking a small piece of cardboard smearing it with peanut butter, adding a few black oil sunflower seeds from my bird feeder, and resting it on the “trip” in the back of the trap. If you apply too much peanut butter to your cardboard the weight of it triggers the trap. You can figure out by trial and error how much you need for the perfect balance to set your trap. This method also keeps the trap clean for when you set it the next time. The two pictures (one with the set trap and the other with the rat) are taken within two hours of each other! I caught a total of six rats within two days. And I realize my problem was solved when I started catching, chipmunks and sparrows.🤣🤣Another trick I learned was if I put a dish towel, size cloth over the cage after I caught my rats that they were much calmer, and it was easier to transport them off to their new home at “ the little cabin in the woods.” It also made ME calmer and more secure about holding the cage knowing that I wouldn’t have a frightened rat lunging at me as I picked up the cage. Everybody wins.

It's okay
I actually ended up not being able to use it because the rat turned out to be too large for this trap but I can review it's sturdiness and trap mechanism..The trap mechanism sets and works very well I was pleased with that but the overall build quality is a bit light most rats can chew through the material this is made out of so if you use this you're going to have to make sure you check it a couple times a day or you'll likely have an escape.

Functional, but no match for rats
Works well with the right bait, proper placement, re-baiting every few days, and washing with scolding water after the previous tenant has vacated. The only drawback is that you must relocate rats rather quickly, as they will eat through the cage within a day. Mice seem to stay contained though.

It did work, but didn't hold up against a trapped squirrel
This cage was the right size and easy to set up. When I set it out to try to catch a chipmunk, a squirrel got caught inside. It wrecked that cage so badly; I wasn't sure I could free it. The squirrel after it couldn't get out began gnawing on the cage and was making a dent in the metal! The metal is really thin, reminds me of chicken wire. It's a good cage if you can catch what you want inside. It worked, but it was flimsy against anything I assume that's larger than a chipmunk. The damage to the cage was so great. I only owned it for two days before I had to trash it after the squirrel got caught inside.I'm not saying you shouldn't purchase it, but just keep in mind the cage wiring is flimsy. You can only catch something that is not able to bend or tear up the wiring or the trip plate inside.
