I absolutely love my mixer, I never ever buy pasta from the shops now, I think there's something in dried pasta that upsets my stomach, so being able to make fresh pasta very quickly is a god send as I love pasta! I have the pasta making attachments too which makes the task quick and simple to do.Cake making is a breeze too, I'm no good at bread making although its not my mixers fault, it does its job wonderfully. The price of these kitchenAid mixers put people off, but I think they are worth the money. The build is very strong, being made of metal, they are heavy and sturdy and the motor is very reliable mixing and kneading without effort. When I'm using my pasta attachment the motor can be on for half an hour if I'm making a big batch and there's no sign of over heating it just goes on and on and I'm confident enough with my machine that I let it work for as long as I need it.I wasn't sure how much I'd use it and would it be worth spending so much when I could buy something cheaper, but I use it a lot and yes it was worth spending the extra dosh, I know it's going to last.

I love it, love it, love it!
I have been wanting one of these for a LONG time but could never justify the cost. Big mistake! Over the last 2 years I've worked my way through 4 cheap models (3 hand held mixers & 1 stand mixer) and the combined cost of those would virtually have paid for this one.So happy with it I wish I'd just done it sooner and saved a lot of money, time and frustration. Very sturdy, mixes wonderfully, great for pastry (makes the whole process even quicker). I use it at least 5 times a week for something or other. It's easy to clean and looks great. Part of the family now and will probably last forever.Only slight down is that I had really wanted the gorgeous deep blue colour but definitely could not justify spending the extra £100+ just for the colour, shame. Not sure why a different colour should increase the cost by so much.If you're wavering about purchasing this mixer because of the price I feel that it is a false economy to buy cheap, save a little longer and go for this one! Happy cooking...

Professional Baker - Had for 4 years, still going strong.
I purchased this mixer over 4 years ago during the 2011 Black Friday and got it at an absolutely brilliant price.Since then I have gone on to train professionally as a Baker/Patisserie chef and this mixer saw me through all of my training and beyond.Over the last 4 years I have used this mixer to make pastry, cookies, breads, cakes, ice creams, custards, even things such as mashed potatoes and burgers. It is exceptionally versatile and it has survived almost daily use without any repercussions - I will say that I have looked after this machine and followed the guidelines of maximum capacities and I believe that this is why my machine (along with the high build quality of KitchenAid) has lasted me for such a long time.I would recommend the Classic mixer over the Artisan any day as the differences between the two in the real world are not worth the additional cost in my professional opinion (I have used both). There are a few things about the classic that I don't like but these are trivial - the bowl doesn't have a handle and the whisk attachment isn't dishwasher safe, apart from that this is a brilliant machine.I recently upgraded to the larger 6.9L bowl-lift mixer due to needing something with more capacity and therefore I gave this mixer on to someone else. I cannot recommend this mixer enough it has been brilliant and I would recommend it to anyone who wants something that will last.

Not good for bread/dough
Not used much, but very dissapointed with kneading function, very dangerous as bowl is unstable when kneading dough.Good for making frostings but if batter thick then not sturdy enough. Unfortunately realised too late otherwise would have returned the item.

KitchenAid Classic mixer
I received this just the other day and it is lovely. It is very heavy but I think thats a good thing as it shows to me that it is a solid well made piece of equipment.I thought that I would try my hand at breadmaking with my new KitchenAid, was amazed at the results, beautiful soft lovely bread first time. So easy, just chuck in all the ingredients and let the mixer do the work. I will never use my breadmaker again, the results just dont compare. It is very white but will fit in with most kitchens I think.Very retro looking and absolutley feels bulit to last. I would have liked a black one but I was not willing to put up the best part of another £200 for a colour. I agree with other reviews that the Classic does the job perfectly so i think it is better value than the Artisan.I will be using this at least 3 times a week for my bread and the odd cake, oh and I believe it does killer mash so will have to try that.BTW, I got mine as a warehouse deal, damaged box so £236, nothing wrong with it at all! Thank you Amazon.LOVE IT!!!

Table Mixer
This mixer is a sturdy, well engineered piece of kitchen equipment and I am delighted with it. Not only does it do a good job but it is very quiet in the process, a big plus for me as I hate noisy equipment. It is heavy so doesn't move around the worktop when it is in use. Not one to heave in and out of a cupboard, mine stands proudly on my workbench ready for action. I now make bread in it rather than kneading totally by hand. I knead it in the mixer first and then tip it out onto my board and do a final hand kneading and the results are great. So far it has not failed to do a good job on any task I have given it.
