Excellent Locks
I have often considered buying strap locks, but as I now only play at home I didn't feel the need for them. That having been said, I have recently acquired a Gibson Les Paul and have experienced a near drop as my everyday strap came off the button...Having fitted these excellent Schaller strap locks I can immediately feel the security they provide. Well worth the investment...and cheaper than repairing a damaged instrument!

Perfect product
To any hesitant buyers GET These strap locks they are worth every penny I bought two sets and I wasn't sure if they'd be all that great but they are. They make all the difference I don't worry about my guitar falling off my strap and being damaged whilst my hand aren't on the fretboard and the pin release system is so quick to put the strap on and off if you want it out the way. The locks are solid and simple to install all I used was a screw driver and spanner and a razor (for cutting the excess leather I had from where the old strap had frayed it out of shape) it took me ten minutes to screw in the strap locks and away I went to the studio I've had them 2 months and have had no issues what so ever. The instructions are simple and fitting is simple. A great product for any one who cares about there instrument. Also the delivery was on time and we'll packaged.

A Quality Product From Deutchland
Bought these to put on my Fender Mustang bass as I like to use a strap but have noticed if I don't take the strap off after playing and just hang the bass the leather ends bend over time which could prove fatal. Anyhow bought these after doing some YouTube research and I have to say they are very impressive. The chrome coating looks very bright and durable and the parts are very heavy. A couple of observations. I hand to drill-out the pin screw holes on my bass because the original Fender pin screws are the same length but slightly narrower. I used a 3mm drill bit and found it very easy to bore-out the existing screw holes. Also these pins have quite a large diameter and most straps come with small pin holes. I hack to cut a bit of excess leather out of my strap to get the threaded lock nuts down close to the strap. No hardship and don't let it put you off buying this excellent product.

New cheaper packaging and screw diameter
I do love these and I have 9 sets. This is the first to come in cardboard box. The product is no different, is it just no longer waterproof packaging. This matters when delivery instructions are ignored by Amazon. Manufacturers need to put pressure on Amazon to ensure that instructions are followed and products are not left in the rain. The strap button is a whole piece design with a hex/allen key screw. This is thicker in every instance (10+ guitars). DO NOT try and force the screw into the shoulder join etc as you can easily cause a serious split in the wood. Even if it’s not apparent immediately - imagine a live gig and your should stock develops a split.Find the appropriate drill bit so the hex screw still bites but doesn’t have to force its way in.Overall the product and new design is good. The price point is high. With the high quality packaging it appears high end. With the cardboard it really is about £10 overpriced. With the quality of alternatives having seriously become competitive Schaller £20 is were you sit in the range of what’s available. My students and friends are buying cheaper priced brands and getting what now look like superior products. Backwards step. Get competitive on price Schaller.

If you don't buy anything else for your guitar.... get this.
First review - don't usually do these, but this had to be done as ANY guitar player should own a set of these per guitar!I'd always thought I just needed to be very careful with my guitar and always be vigilant that it might fall out of the strap. The amount of dings on my old Stagg are a testament to this.Found out about these on a guitar teaching website - instantly bought them since I got myself a new Les Paul and did NOT want to rely on my reflexes and providence alone to save that from dropping - expensive new guitars don't enjoy this! They're much happier, and sound much better when the headstock stays on and your electrics/pups haven't been destroyed!Quick enough delivery, easy install and such a small price for a lot more confidence. I can concentrate on playing now, instead of checking my strap every 5 minutes to make sure it's still securely fastened.Note for Les Paul type guitars or generally heavy guitars - the screws supplied with this set are smaller than the hole at the bottom of your guitar (The one near the neck is fine) - you'll need to do a quick bit of DIY. Google DIY loose screw toothpicks (or something to that effect) and you should find plenty of websites telling you how to make the screw hole tighter. Just remember to use some wood glue (You'll see what I mean).Rock on good people! :)

A Must Have
I've got variants of these in (I think) four different colours across my guitars now. I'm amazed I played for so long without using strap locks. They give such a sense of security when your favourite instrument is hanging from your shoulder. Also, I love how easily the strap can be popped on and off. If you're taking your guitar somewhere in a case (particularly one with a snug fit), it's so quick to just remove the strap for transport and pop it back on when it's time to play.Fitting is incredibly easy with tools you'll almost certainly have as a guitar player. My only qualm would be that the collar is designed to be nipped up tight using an Allen key (there's two holes to thread it through to give it more torque than just thumb screwing it), but then the small locking grub screw uses a small flat head screw driver. To me, it would make more sense to use a small Allen key for that too. However, that's me being incredibly picky.Schaller aren't the only quality strap locks out there, but I'd take some convincing to switch now!
