I get that when the batteries are low. Maybe try different batteries.

Yes, the labels I made to stick on 4" plastic plant labels worked great and last several years without fade and look great. White and yellow plastic work best, the silver gets a bit dark and patchy after a few years outside (2012-2017 so far) I did accidentally buy non dymo compatibles last year and they faded and peeled in a year, so the Dymo brand plastic are much better than cheaper 'compatibles'.

Are all the white plastic refills now matt plastic? The shiny plastic ones lasted better if they got wet
