Fascinating
A very intriguing book that really gets you thinking. It's one ill re-read throughout the years and I expect new layers of understanding will dawn on me from read to read. I'd recommend Carl Jungs book "Psychology and Alchamy" for further reading.

Concise writing, gets to the point
This is a very interesting and informative book, by a student of Carl Jung. It helps if you already have a grounding in psychology and alchemical principles.

extremely relevant and immediate
This has been my bedtime reading for some weeks, covering a few pages each night and sometimes a bit more. It's not especially easy reading but Von Franz's style makes it more accessible, and on occasions, I had the experience of reading something that was (synchronistically?) extremely relevant and immediate, and felt the hairs on the back of my neck rise up.To get to grips with understanding the ancient processes of alchemy as being actually a process of the human psyche and soul is not an easy thing, but this book offers much of the richest source materials of antiquity but offered with a modern interpreter who can mediate some of the most obscure language and symbolism.

Great book
What a genius Von Franz was, this is a glorious book - her dedication is very inspiring! A perfect addition to Eric Neumann’s book on the history of consciousness. ( thanks Jordan Peterson for introducing me to these awesome books!)
