Great humidifier
This thing works great. I put it in my sauna to make it almost like a steam room and I sweat like crazy with it.

Stops working the first time you clean it
I bought this humidifier because it is compact, easy-to-fill, easy-to-clean and I didn't want to use a cool mist humidifier like I used to use. However, once you clean the Boneco S250--according to the directions--it doesn't work properly anymore and the cleaning light is always on.This is an expensive piece of junk. I wouldn't buy anything from this company.I'm going to my local drugstore and buy the much cheaper cool mist humidifier I used before. It actually works.

Good humidifier, but hygrometer isn't great
I really like this steam humidifier. For the most part it works well enough. But the hygrometer seams pretty bad. It is not just that it is off by a few degrees. I could easily deal with it if it was always off by a consistent amount, but it is not consistent. Sometime when it is operating the reading will be stuck at something like 41%. While the 3 other hygrometers I have in the room are reading up around 50%. Sometimes when it stops operating because it has reached the percent target that I set, it stays at that value while my other hygrometers go down. So even though the humidity has dropped below the target, it stays off because it’s internal hygrometer thinks it is still over the target. It usually operates well enough to keep my room with all my musical instruments in it at a good enough humidity level, but I do sometimes have to play with the target value to get it to turn on or off.Since my desired range is pretty wide, I just want to stay above 40% and below 55%, this works for me. I would purchase it again if I needed another. I do wish the hygrometer was more consistent; that would have made it 5 stars instead of 4. If you want a more specific target you will likely be frustrated with this humidifier.I was worried about the size of the water tank. It is quite small and I thought it wouldn’t even last a full day, but once I got to my desired target, it has been able to maintain that and the water has lasted at least a full day sometimes two before refilling. As for the noise level, when it is on high you can definitely hear a boiling water sound, but I work in the same room it is in and have zoom calls all day and it isn’t a problem for me. On low setting it is quieter.

Don't trust this manufacturer - they are careless and do not include necessary pieces
I'm being generous with 2 stars. This product arrived without two essential items: the CalcOff Cleaner and descaler and the Anti-Mineral-Pad developed especially for ALL BONECO steam humidifiers. I've been in touch with the company several times about simply sending me these two pieces of merchandise and they insist they cannot help me. They actually told me the product was discontinued! I paid $140 for this humidifier - which is supposed to be supplying me with HEALTHY AIR. What company does this?

What's not to like?
We had been using an evaporative whole-house portable humidifier in our villa for the last 3 years. Although it accomplished the purpose, it was noisy put cold air into the atmosphere and was not the best solution possible. We weren't candidates for an HVAC distributed humidifier because our HVAC unit is in the attic where the lines could freeze in the winter season. It as suggested to us that we consider a portable steam humidifier to replace the evaporative unit. After receiving, and returning, a Boneco S450 unit that was sent to us in used condition, we decided to try again. This time we ordered 2 smaller S250 Boneco units from a different seller and they arrived as advertised and with all their parts. The 2 units will cover almost 1,000 sq. ft. with warm air, almost completely noiselessly and using no expensive filters like the evaporative unit did. The water tanks are only .8 gallons each and they will run for about 12 hours before needing to be refilled, which will give us about 45% relative humidity. The only regret we have is that we didn't know about these sooner!

Not for large rooms
Definitely not a large enough capacity for large rooms. I have it run all day and it doesn’t change the humidity level at all in a large room. The humidistat isn’t accurate either. When I first turn it on it says my room is at 33% when it’s actually below 20% humidity level. The steam function works well. I have seen that some can yellow over time inside. Would be nice if this came in a 4 gallon size which would work for a large room.

Very happy so far
Have had the unit about a month now. Just in terms of being able to set & monitor humidity levels, it's a great upgrade from our previous, basic on/off humidifier. I wish it had slightly higher capacity for the reservoir - when it's really dry it can blast through what it holds in less than a day on 'high' with a high humidity level set - but overall I'd say it's just about right. When on low and set to 50% humidity with outside temps hovering at zero (so, pretty dry winter air) it can go a couple days without a refill. One odd thing I've noted is that when it does run out of water, the humidity readings on the front appear significantly off (10-15%). As an example, the front 'refill' notice will be flashing and the humidity level will read 60+%. I'll refill the container, put it back in the unit and watch the humidity level drop down to 45% in a matter of 20-30 seconds.Overall, I really like this humidifier. The design & functionality is great, and it's pretty quiet. I like the auto-dimming display (i.e., doesn't light up the whole room at night) and the small footprint it has on my bedroom nightstand.I'm hoping it will continue to work well for many years and will update if I have issues!
