Great filter, one of the few over-the-counter with cold water, and even better customer service
UPDATE JUNE, 2025:I never realized I didn’t update my review here so I thought it would be fair with Waterdrop to do so. They reached out to me and said they had to take the filters out of the market while they ran some laboratory tests because they were accused by a YouTuber of being carcinogenic (very grave accusation). They got back to me after a few months and said all their lab tests were confirmed to be negative, which they validated with the proper authorities. The filters are back in the market for a while now. I have updated my review back to 4 stars based on their top notch customer experience.UPDATE APR, 2024:I needed to buy replacement filters for my A1 dispenser, and I just realized it was discontinued!!! the system and the RO filter aren’t available anymore, neither on Amazon nor on the Waterdrop website. I invested more than $600 on this less than a year ago and now it’s useless! I’ll never trust Waterdrop again.UPDATE DEC 06, 2023:After testing the unit a bit more and talking to the manufacturer, I concluded that it wasn't a broken unit but rather a very specific, unusual situation. I suspect it was related to me having it set to the "MAX" dispensing setting, which means it keeps going until it empties the tank, and the tank having run out of either cold or filtered water, in which case it started to filter/cool more, and then after a few minutes, continued automatically with the dispensing. I wasn't able to reproduce it anymore, but I also now refrain from using the "MAX" dispensing setting. I was offered a new unit by the vendor but I refused, since I didn't think this unit was broken nor I wanted to go through the hassle of having it replaced/returned. I was then offered a rebate as an appology and a gift (filtering pitcher), which I did accept. The seller/manufacturer was awesome in the interactions and genuinely interested in fixing my issue. Based on this experience, I have updated my review to 4 stars.ORIGINAL REVIEW:My filter started dispensing water by itself out of nowhere. If I tried pressing the dispensing button, it would starting dispensing another stream of water (I didn’t even know it had 2 holes). Nothing I did stopped it from continuing dispensing, it only stopped when I took it out of the power plug. I tried turning it on again and it kept dispensing until the water tank was empty. I don’t know what happened, but there was definitely a bug. Terrible experience. I was just talking about it to a friend when it stated doing this, no need to say my friend will definitely not get it.

Excellent product; even better customer service
My family and I have been using this countertop RO system for well over a year and a half. It had been reliable and simple to use with regular cartridge changes. Then out of the blue the machine started to make whirring sounds and then one day began leaking water from underneath the unit. I was saddened as the machine is a pricey, premium product and the warranty already elapsed.I contacted customer support to see what repair options were available. After sharing more details about the issue along with a video, they offered me a replacement for a nominal service fee! Wow, blown away. The new unit arrived and I received a shipping label to send back the old unit. Within a week my family and I were back to enjoying pure water.Thank you Waterdrop (shout out to Robbie Li) for your excellence in customer service.

Received leaky unit - not recommended.
I was really looking forward to trying this product. I followed the instructions for installation and did the necessary flushing (which was kind of a pain, but I thought for one time it would be worth it). During the flushing, I noticed some water under the machine - but assumed it was due to the fact that I didn't have a very good container to flush the water into. Due to the shape / size, I had to put it under the spout an an angle, so I thought this might have caused the extra water.I tried a glass of water. It was good, but not as good as I had hoped for. Maybe I am too particular, but I don't really enjoy when my water has much taste. This definitely had a taste to it.A few hours later (and after reading some reviews here), I decided that I would put some paper towels under the machine to see if the water was still an issue. After not very long, the paper towels were soaked. The water was coming out from under the machine. I was so disappointed. It also was a pain to package back up and heavy to send back.I will not be using Waterdrop or any of their products in the future. For how expensive this is, it definitely should not have any issues - much less something so major. I decided to order a different machine (Kul).

sturdy and cold
kids liked the cold water function. but it removed too much from the water and we had to refill water too many times a day (we drink a lot). wanted one that re-added minerals and didn't need to refill as much. other unit did not feel as sturdy, this felt sturdy when pressing the buttons/screen.

One year after, and very satisfied
Very few products stand the one-year use test as this one. Many reasons to buy it:1. Water: The water tastes great, the hot water makes a great tea, and the cold water is refreshing. The water in South California has lots of chloramine, which tastes weird. With this filter, the water tastes like spring water.2. Quality: The filter is sturdy and easy to assemble and use. Flushing takes a little while, but it is easy. Replacing the filters is straightforward.3. Customer Service: Customer service is the best part of buying this product. I wanted another plastic tank to make it easier to refill my tank in the morning. However, they do not have it on the website for purchase since it is not consumable, like filters. Robbie Li sent me a new plastic tank for free, with just a simple email to their customer service. He was invaluable throughout getting it replaced, even though my warranty had already expired.I definitely recommend this product.
