A classic masterpiece of Trash Metal and MegaDeal for me!
This is one of Trash Metal's most classic and iconic albums of all times. In Megadeth's carreer this is their nÂș 1 record ever, followed closely by their next album "Countdown to Extiction". Unbelievable guitar riffs and melodic quality performed by a band on it's peak.Any true Trash Metal lover must own a copy of this alongside with some other classics of the genre like: Metallica's "Master of Pupets", Slayer's "Reign in Blood" and Sepultura's "Arise". Absolute classics! One final note to those who are interested, beware to get the original 1990 issue / edition of this album. The 2004 Remaster edition will not sound and feel the same.I was lucky enough to find a old used copy of the 1990 edition in pristine condition for less than 4.5 Euro (postage included)! An absolute MegaDeal! :D

Perfection from start to finish , if you like thrash metal , incredible solos and blistering guitar riffs . This album hosts one of the greatest line ups of megadeth ( Mustaine , Friedman , Menza and Ellefson )The live version of this album is also perfection although not the original line up what a performance from all musicians involved ( Broderick , Drover )

A true Thrash classic, Megedeth's finest hour.
One of the undoubted great metal albums ever released, Megadeth perfecting their own trade with pin point technicality and groove that rightly places them at the top of the genre along side Metallica and Slayer. With tracks like Hangar 18, Tournado of Souls, Five Magics, Take no Prisoners and the phenomenal opener Holy Wars you imagine the mosh pit when the band toured live back in 1991 as part of the Clash of the Titans tour, Megadeth really raised the bar here, and 25 years later, not much has been released since that compares, both by themselves or by their peers. Countdown to Extinction would follow two years later and provide another classic, but there is something about Rust and Peace will never be matched.

Possibly one the of the best...
... metal albums of all time. This is one of a batch of 10 albums or so that are the absolute best examples of heavy metal and what the genre has offered since Sabbath put the line in the sand. I'm not going to get bogged down in saying it's thrash, or speed metal or blah blah, or even get into a debate about where it sits in the whole metal family tree. This is, simply, heavy metal at it's best.I could never get past Mustaine's appalling attitude and personality when it came out and ignored it as a consequence. Having listened to it properly for the first time in years, I am blown away. Speechless in fact.Genre defining, in my honest opinion.

Thrash Perfection
This album is the definition of a masterpiece. It is Megadeth's finest hour, in my opinion. This is where Megadeth really took off for me. They had a fantastic start with Killing is my Business, followed by two more brilliant albums, but with Rust in Peace the quality of music hit the roof. There are NO weak tracks on this album whatsoever.Every song on this album is superb, and even the laid back Dawn Patrol is effective. The mood created on this album is brilliant and very consistent. Overall, this album is plain brilliant and is simply perfect.

Properly Good Metal
I haven't had good experiences getting into metal albums such as Slipknot's Vol 3 or Avenged Sevenfold's City of Evil. However I am glad to say that i think this album rocks! The opening track Holy Wars...The Punishment is a cracker of a song to begin with. The next track Hangar 18 is my favourite and Marty Friedman's guitar work is unbelievably good! The album weakest tracks for me are Five Magics and Lucretia. The record picks up again towards the end with songs Dawn Patrol and Rust In Peace...Polaris. I also enjoyed the bonus track that is My Creation; and if your a true Megadeth fan then you will appreciate the 3 demos as the guitar work is done but Chris Poland not Friedman.

A Classic Megadeth Album
Rust In Peace is one of the finest masterpeices of Megadeth. Containing some of their best songs such as Hangar 18, Holy Wars and Tornado of Souls, this is one of the great thrash metal albums of its era. The nasal vocals of Dave Mustaine, and super speed guitar make this very distinct in its feel, and hand it some very unique qualities. This is Megadeth at the top of their game.
