Heavy duty, works great, easy to install
I'm using this catch with a fairly heavy shed door. I couldn't be happier. Even in high winds, the door stays open. Yet it's easy to pull close. It's much better than the hook+eye catch that it replaced.Easy to install: I first mounted the male part on the door. Then slid on the female catch, opened the door, then traced around the catch to determine its mounting point on the wall.

Great latch some creative mounting involved
Used to keep screen porch doors closed during strong winds. Works great but get used to how hard to push open. The pivot shaft is sledged pressed into place, worked loose causing latch to bind. Used a center punch to flair it and back in place it went and stayed. It closes so hard, at first others think your slamming the door cause your mad. This is a great latch design, I bought another for another door. Some creative mounting will be involved it's large.

Heavy duty latch
My camper came with a thin plastic latch and hook. Pathetic. This one is the opposite of pathetic. In fact, I was concerned the latch would be too strong, making it difficult to unlatch the 30" door or, during the process, I would rip out the longer screws I had substituted for those provided. But the latch works perfectly with just the right amount of tug to release the door and yet keep the door securely open in a stout wind. I did, however, as a just-in-case, use small bolts with washers and nuts through the door since there was no metal tubing in that area to secure the hook part of the latch.

Strong and Durable
Nailed one piece to the bottom of a gate and the other on the fence post to catch the gate upon closing. Works like a charm.

Exactly what I needed for plantation shutter door
The door that leads to our backyard has plantation shutters on it with a couple of magnets that keep it closed. The magnets are not strong enough for such heavy shutters so they were constantly flying open when we'd go through the door. A shutter repair company added a button catch and that worked great for about a month and then it kept getting bent and no longer held it closed. This catch works PERFECTLY! It keeps the shutter closed no matter how hard the door is slammed, yet it's still easy to open so that the dogs don't chomp through it when they're inside and people are working out back.
