Simple solution
Really good solution to an annoying problem on Brompton bikes. I was so impressed I bought another set for my new Brompton. Get them you won't be disappointed.

Don't work reliably, add too much resistance for quick clamping
Frequently get jammed in bootom of the clamp plate, failing to return (extend plate). The added spring also increases the resistance to clamp tightening, making it difficult to spin the know quickly with one finger.
