Very poor sound quality
The instrument seems pretty ok. But the sound is very low. Hardly able to hear the other person. First, I thought I have to increase some volume, but later realised this is the max. Quite disappointed. Looks like I would have to go for another one.

Good product. Nice quality
Great product as a home phone. Was fed up with the regular ITI chinese phones from BSNL that breaks every 6 months and needed replacement. Can't repair such phones because if you open it plastic starts to break and it self destructs forcing users to buy new phone. This product looks to be made from good quality plastic (maybe ABS grade).Keys are soft to touch and larger so that elder people can use easily.Digital display shows caller ID and the ring tone is not too loud (but fair enough to be heard from a couple of rooms away at the highest setting).Speaker phone sound is a bit feeble at highest sound setting. This phone doesn't need any batteries (as in the case of some similar phones with display from Panasonic).Alcatel is a subsidiary of Nokia (which is known for quality telecom products)This product is made in china (but trust me, the quality is good)

It died in 1 year and 4 months
The phone develop horrible noise and disturbance while talking in little over a year which we thought was a line issue. The Airtel technician demonstrated that it was an instrument malfunction. We know have to throw this away what should have lasted ten years. So much for Make in India.------I have had a very mixed experience shopping for digital products. This one right out of the box is the best 1200 rupees I have spent in a while.-The product build and design are high quality - not cheap at all-Ringer quality is good-Speakerphone & hands free operation works well (the second most important feature to me)-It also weights about 500gms (the third most important..). It won't fly off the desk every time I sneeze unlike the other 100gm models economizing on plastic and shipping.-I'm glad I didn't buy some of the more expensive models in this line because this is all I need from a landline these days. Low expectations. This beats it by a long shot. Kudos to Alcatel.Full disclosure:-I have only had it for a day. If it misbehaves I will update the report card.-There is a nice sticker at the back clearly telling where to mail the phone in case it fails within six months warranty.
