Great Scanner - Phenominal Quality and Value
Just getting back into film and found this reasonably priced film scanner. It's been great to scan in some old negatives I had. Awesome quality, easy to use, and the software works well. I used the software on my PC and also a Mac without issue. Just load the negative and scan.Highly recommended to scan in negatives. Truly plug and play!

Fantastic Film Scanner for Preserving Memories!
I ordered the Pacific Image PrimeFilm 7250 Plus Film Scanner to digitize my aging film negatives and slides, and it has worked better than I ever imagined. As a former portrait and wedding photographer, I have binders full of 35mm film negatives from years past, and this scanner has finally allowed me to bring those memories back to life. The software installed on my Windows PC quickly and without any issues, but just a tip, install the drivers before connecting the scanner to avoid any headaches. The image quality is exceptional at 7,200 DPI, producing crisp, clear scans with true 48-bit RGB color. The software provides plenty of control over resolution, color, and even the removal of scratches. It supports a variety of film types, including color, monochrome, positive and negative films, and 135 film slides, which is a huge bonus. I also appreciate the multiple exposure scanning feature for improved dynamic range and the automatic color restoration function.Overall, this is a fantastic film scanner, suitable for both professionals and non-professionals looking to preserve their memories. I highly recommend this film scanner!

don't waste your money
Hard to use for elderly and doesn't work too well. The program it has you download is not user friendly and I do not recommend this product.

Potentially Good Scanner Marred by Inadequate Software.
I wanted a scanner that was more than a modified Smart Phone camera, and this one seemed to answer that at a reasonable price. I have many 70 year old slides that I wanted to scan. Unfortunately, among other problems, this scanner is so slow, it would be impossible to complete my project during the remained of my life time. The software required to operate the scanner is totally inadequate for the tasks it purports to be able to perform.Pros:Scanner is an actual flatbed type scanner supposedly capable of very high resolutions.Scanner is easy to set up and put into action, as long as the software is working. When the automatic correction modules work properly, they are very good. The scanner comes in very secure packaging.Cons:The scanner only handles mounted 35mm slides and 35mm negative strips which was fine for me, but grossly limits it versatility. The slide holder is slightly larger than a standard 35mm slide and it is possible to insert the slide so it cannot be completely scanned.Occasionally the scanner cropped the preview when making the final scan (not sure if this is a scanner or software problem). [see sample above]Occasionally the final scan was blurred in part. [see sample above]Software was totally inadequate to utilize all the abilities of a scanner this sophisticated. The manual corrections were simplistic and inadequate to truly enhance or correct problems with the original image.Occasionally, the automatic correction modules made no apparent difference on a scan with multiple issues.Scanning time was excessive for the final scans: 1:18 FOR "Fast" and 2:55 for "Quality", both at 900 dpi and not counting the near constant scanner calibrations. On my system, if I closed the software, I had to restart my computer to get the software to re-recognize the scanner.Over all documentation was dismally inadequate.I imagine that the scanner might be of use to someone with adequate software and time to correct the scanned images in other software, but the time needed to do that makes this scanner inappropriate for my use. I certainly could not recommend it to a casual or non-technically competent user..

works well, lots of settings and features
The film scanner came in quickly and with no issues. The Pacific Image PrimeFilm 7250 Plus Film Scanner can scan 35mm or 135 film slides and negative scanners. The high resolution 7,200 dpi 48-bit true color 3.9 dynamic range really helps bring negatives into full view. The magic touch feature works great as is gets rid of most film "scratches" and marks. It is supported by Mac and Windows. The fastest setting gets pictures done quickly but with a lower quality. The default takes under 2 minutes with good quality. The best settings takes longer but with the magic touch feature, it really brings pictures back to life. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to digitize picture negatives.
