Top bit of kit
Plug and play really. Identification of fault was detailed with code. Fault cleared and hasn’t returned.

Did just what I needed it to do.
Now, I've only used the reader once, and it has, I hope, identified my car's problem. I got an ABS warning light come up on my Polo dash, and panicked. It's a £250 car, but with only 30,000 miles on it. An ABS pump costs £800+! My old code reader didn't find anything, (It's paid for itself already, though, having identified a coolant temperature sensor as the cause of the car's failure to start)) and delving into the rear hub assemblies and cleaning the (huge quantities of) brake dust from the reluctor rings and wheel speed sensors didn't achieve anything. Experience with cleaning up previous cars' wheel speed sensor assemblies had led me to be optimistic...My local VW specialist had disappointed me in the past (costing me two days pay to diagnose what transpired to be a common, easily diagnosable fault, and charging £80 to replace a 50p component...) so I avoid them now I'm retired and have more time, less money. The unit itself seems reasonably robust, easy to use, and has a clear display (though I, stupidly, didn't follow the menu correctly, and didn't get my diagnosis immediately...) It wouldn't read my VW's VIN number, which was disappointing, but my previous reader wouldn't, either. whereas it would read the SAAB's VIN... The Ancel said I'd got a faulty rear offside wheel speed sensor, which made sense, and saved me investigating all four corners by substitution.I'll come back when the ABS light has gone, and the car's passed its next MOT (imminent, and adding to my stress levels...)Looking good so far, though.Just came back to say that I fitted a £10 Delphi wheel speed sensor bought on ebay, and connected it temporarily to the loom under the rear seat, allowing me to erase the fault and extinguish the warning light, showing that that particular wheel sensor was the root of my problem. Sensor's properly installed, now, cable routed and connected, and car's been road tested. Marvellous! One job and the scanner's paid for itself as far as I'm concerned.

Worked great on my son's Mk7 Golf Brake pad change
I bought this to help my son reset his Electronic Parking Brake so he could change rear brake pads. Very easy steps and so 5*

Affordable VAG scanner, helpful for the DIYer.
Great product at an affordable price. Needed for replacing pads and rotors on a -11 VW Sharan. Only issue was that under the menu for EPBReplaceBrakepads you have the options to "retract and/or release brake pump" which was a bit confusing since the EPB doesn't have a "pump". Ancel instruction manual leaves alot to wish for and their support couldn't answer my question if by "pump" they meant "motor". Asked the same question here on Amazon and the seller got back to me within 12h and confirmed my suspicion that it indeed was for retracting/releasing EPB MOTOR. Worked like a charm, also cleared a fault code on the EPB module.Software update wasn't an issue, just be aware of what version you have BEFORE updating so as to get the correct new Firmware from the Ancel website.Happy with the product overall, would recommend to anyone who is in the market for an affordable VAG scanner.

Useful piece of kit and can save you money
This little piece of kit allows me to go to the garage with some knowledge of the issue which has saved me money as they cannot rip me off as easily!

Airbag warning light
With my 2018 VW Polo whenever the battery gets low the airbag warning light stays on. Normally requiring a trip to the garage to clear this. Bought this product as description said it was specifically for VW group and covered airbags etc. The product arrived one day early. Plugged it in it found the fault, cleared the fault all in about 2 minutes saving the cost of the garage visit

Great bit of kit!
Bought this because I needed to reset my VW Touran airbag light. Had replaced the stereo and then the battery died which then caused the airbag system to see low voltage and switch off. I have tried apps with Bluetooth odbII modules but none did the trick.Thought I would spend a bit of money on this due to the good reviews and figuring it is still cheaper than asking VW to reset it.This worked a treat. The instructions are a bit light on content but the device is pretty intuitive and if you are a logical thinker you will have no problems figuring it out. When resetting the airbag light I also noticed several other modules in the car had faults recorded, all due to low voltage. Now there are no lights and the car drives perfectly. Now to figure out why the stereo screen is now just white but that's another issue for another time. The screen was white before I used this, this did not cause it.

Sadly disappointing
I bought this unit because it was supposed to be more suitable for my VW golf than most of the others on offer. Slightly more expensive but i figured it would be better being a unit for V.A.G. On the good points it connects quickly and has a decent library of fault codes, on the downside, it crashes or freezes when scanning so often you don't get to find out what the fault codes are! the issue I had with my car was the rear right power window has reversed so "up" is "down" and "down" is "up", this is a coding error since no "rewiring has been done" and this unit couldn't spot that, and crashed or locked up when I scanned for this error. However it did find faults in certain systems my car doesn't even have, so I updated the software on the "Ancel" website hoping this would fix these issues, but instead things got worse and my dashboard started to flash warning lights when this unit started scanning, I can't afford to have this unit break my car! so my review is very disappointed.
