Great price great product
You can't beat the price, $59.99 for a solar power set up! AND I got mine on sale for $49.99. Even better! They work fantastic! Super easy to set up and install. Lots of great features. Clear video. Night vision works great and so does color night vision with a bit of light. The flood lights are bright but also adjustable in strength. Mine are placed under my gutters and I was worried the gutters would block the solar panels, but they don't.

Cost Effective quality solution
Several thoughts, initially I selected TAPO 402 camera(s) because of a somewhat positive experience with TAPO extender(s) made by the same company as well as door bell camera - also same company. Mostly very happy with the purchases. The camera provides exceptional picture clarity. Installation was straight forward, the batteries were about 50% - 60% upon arrival. Manual says to let them charge for about 7 hours, mine charged in about 4.5 hours. included charger and cables worked well with NO ISSUES. Mounting the cameras was not a problem. Field of view was very good (especially the depth). I already had some experience with the app from 2 previous products. The different detection modes was EXTREMELY NICE. A MAJOR POSITIVE point was that everything can be accomplished with LOCAL (on the camera) storage by using a MICRO SD CARD (up to 512 GB).Recall and play back of the locally stored audio & video works well at home as well as away from home! All of the component cameras integrate very nicely with in the TAPO app and they play well together. You get 30 days free cloud storage with each individual camera (including the previously mentioned door bell camera -- via an included HUB for the door bell). NO SUBSCRIPTION !! :-) :-) :-)Here are I few things I wish TAPO would have done a bit better:PROVIDE LIVE PERSON to PERSON Technical support (not a fan of EMAIL or CHAT support - TOO LONG DELAY for REPLY).MORE secure mounting of cameral to stand -- Maybe some type of security bolt or lock (??), it is too easy to remove the camera from the mount.Somewhat more user friendly NAMING CONVENTIONS - within the app.IMPROVE THE INTEGRATION & FUNCTION(s) WITH ALEXA -- This was a major selling point for me.It took the better part of 3 hours on the phone with LIVE (person to person) AMAZON (technical) support to enable ALEXA to recognize the door bell camera and 2 of the other out side cameras, a major saving grace of that technical support session was that the agent was able to screen share with me through my phone, everything was thoroughly validated and secure for the screen share.MAYBE TAPO could offer this in the future -- perhaps 30 days worth from initial installation .Was eventually able to get ALEXA to announce (and show) when some was at the door. The TAPO cameras work very well with their app, ALEX (app) works very well with its show hardware!Getting BOTH platforms to play NICE with each other was a chore, BUT, in the end well worth it!Happy with all of the cameras definitely plan to purchase at least one more. I am glad that I purchased them and expect that they will last a long time.I have not been compensated in ANY way for this review

Great Camera, but not without issues.
Let me begin by saying this is an absolutely great camera, especially for places that you may not have an option to connect a power source. The mount and housing feels very well made with durable materials and the instructions are fairly simple. The base for the camera can be removed from the mount and installed separately from the solar panel. a 12ft USB-C extension cable is included, along with a blank cap for the mount to cover the area where the camera base should be. Additionally the packaging includes 2 additional o-rings for the USB-C cable, 2 gasket for the power connection on the camera, and 2 plugs for the screw holes on the mount.Setup is like any other Tapo/Kasa device, power on, wait for the orange/green led, add device to respective app, and connect to WiFi. Picture quality is amazing, voices are clear, and there are plenty of settings to configure to meet your needs. One option I wish it had would have been 24/7 continuous recording, but due to the drain it would put on the battery I completely understand why it’s motion based recordings instead. With a 32gb MicroSD, I was able to get about 11 days of recordings and only used about 3gb.As great as a camera it is, it has one major issue, which I can see a lot of people complaining about. The camera without the mount or ball joint is 8.7oz / 246.64g. The base of the ball joint is a hard plastic and does not have a rubber pad inside to provide some resistance. When mounting the camera in a horizontal position, the weight causes the camera to tilt downward. A temporary fix I used a 3/4in piece of a 1/4in wide rubber band, rolled it up and stuffed it into the collar of the ball joint. This provides enough resistance to keep the camera up, This same issue also exists on the solar panel ball joint, but because the panel is light weight, it doesn’t move. I’d be more worried about it come winter and a heavy snow fall. Another less significant issue is with the o-rings on the USB-C connector. It comes off very easily. I actually lost the one that came installed on it, within 5min of removing from the packaging. Thankfully there are additional o-rings included. All in all, as I stated, it’s a great setup that works really well. The issues seem to be minor enough that could be worked out by simply modifying the base of the ball joints. Hopefully TP-Link can work that out and supply us with a permanent fix.

Simple and reliable security camera
These have turned out to be great. I have a large property and decent wifi coverage over most of it. These have allowed me to install cameras that give great coverage, without the need for hardwired power.I have them mounted on trees overlooking various important points on the property. I was concerned that the solar panels wouldn't get enough sunlight to keep the unit charged, but they've had no problem keeping the cameras powered and charged.Pros:- solar powered - no hardwired power needed- simple setup and admin- good picture quality- surprisingly good solar charging even though I'm in a rather covered / tree filled environmentCons:- Does not record continually - only when motion/person/vehicle is detected.- detection sensitivity is somewhat limited. I'm using them at longer ranges than its really effective, but its enough.- only available color is white.... I have repainted them / camouflage to match the trees they're installed on.

Great indoor camera.
I installed this camera in my home instead of outdoors. I was surprised at the clarity and audio of this camera. The sound and visual is very clear. The one thing that i liked is that you don't need a subscription to record video. It gives you the option to buy a micro SD card to loop record. The TP-Link app is easy to navigate and has step by step instructions to format the micro sd card. Also, you don't need a wifi connection to run this camera. The quality is good and sturdy. It comes with an integrated mounting bracket for the camera and solar panel. I hope it lasts long. I will certainly buy more and recommend it to my friends and family.
