Great product!
Just got back from the Florida Keys brown but not burnt! It was important to me to use something reef safe. While its pricey, if you use it when you are in the ocean and use somthing else while you are by the pool, you can stretch it a long way. I did not find it difficult to spread. We definitely needed it while we were snorkeling and had our backs exposed to the sun. Thank you Kokua Sun Care for making a great product.

All natural, reef safe, great sunscreen!
Awesome sunscreen! Love that it is all natural and reef safe and made by a small company in Hawaii! I use it for my bike rides on the mainland and in Hawaii for long days at the beach!

Safe for corals and epic ingredients
Discovered the product 5 years ago in hawaii and keep coming back to restock whenever I’m actually swimming in the ocean! My sun sensitive skin aways feel well protected from the burning sun, and i feel safe using it for snorkeling with corals because it’s made by people who feel responsible to their water and land.I was hoping to grab another one when Im physically hawaii to skip amazon’s profit share but couldn’t find latest places that carry their product so just got it here before I travel so i can make sure i’m well prepared for the sun.

Reef safe and no burns!
Reef safe! Used on Western Caribbean cruise and no burns! Very fair skinned person here. It left a somewhat greasy and shiny appearance that took a minute to absorb. But appreciated that it was reef safe and kept safe from burns.

Best sun and skin protection
I buy this product about twice a year and wear it religiously, reapplying it often during the day. I am almost 70 years old and this sunscreen is nice and thick but blends in well on my tanned Asian skin. I mix in a little foundation and that's my makeup routine for the day. It feels wonderful on my aging skin and very moisturizing. The expiration date on each tube is well into the next year for each of them which tells me the product being sold hasn't been sitting on a shelf somewhere. I usually buy this on Amazon but when the actual Kukui site has a sale or if I want the small travel size, I will buy direct. The website also sells other amazing products that I recommend as well. I hope Amazon can start selling the travel size too but that's ok, I'm glad for a fast and easy way to buy this product stateside.

My new favorite sunscreen
I bought this sunscreen for a trip to Hawaii since it is reef safe. It’s expensive, but a little goes a long way. I bought two tubes of sunscreen for our family of four for a week at the beach. We mostly used it on our faces. My son has very sensitive skin, and most sunscreens cause him to breakout. We have been using Badger sunscreen for a few years, but after trying the Kokua sunscreen, my kids both declared that it was their new favorite sunscreen. It rubs in easily with no white cast, no oily residue and no breakouts or rashes. (Hint: use a tiny dab and rub it in all the way. If you use too much, it does leave a little white cast. On the plus side, I could tell if my kids missed any spots on their faces after applying it.) I highly recommend purchasing this sunscreen! It’s good for your skin and for the environment! It’s also easy to apply makeup over it. So if you are reading this review, stop reading and buy it! You’ll be glad you did! I also bought a konjac sponge to remove the sunscreen at the end of the day. The konjac sponges make it super easy to remove. I love, love, love this sunscreen!

If you're TAN SKINNED (NC35 or Fenty 320), this will show up a bit white on your skin.
I usually wear a regular spf30 sunscreen back home, but I'm currently deployed in the Middle East, so I wanted to try out a zinc sunscreen for once. And walking around in the 120F desert just means I need a good, spf50, sweat-resistant sport sunscreen as opposed to a regular face sunscreen that easily melts off and stings my eyes. What I like about this sunscreen is that I dont feel that burning feeling when I walk out into the sun with regular chemical sunscreens you find in the regular superstores, and it has a very natural kinda nutty smell. No perfume flowery coconut smells. It also really holds up fairly well on particularly extreme heat days where my face is dripping with sweat.I find that it doesn't spread very easily like your regular water-based lotion, but I figured that's just the nature of a zinc-based sunscreen. It's a little difficult putting it on your face though as there is a bit of tugging involved to try and apply it everywhere. IF YOU ARE LIGHT TAN (like a Fenty 320 or like an NC35), REMEMBER THAT LESS IS MORE. The white cast on my face was pretty noticeable when I first tried applying this sunscreen like a regular lotion. After a little trial and error I figured out less really is more, and even though the white cast is there initially, it goes away after a while as opposed to when i first started using it. It also feels like this sunscreen kind of saps away the moisture in my face cause at the end of the day after applying this regularly every 2-ish hours, my face starts feeling tight in a few places. The bottle is also a bit smaller than you'd think.Anyway, I'm gonna assume as a regular beach-use sunscreen, it's pretty good! It does feel pretty water resistant, and my skin does feel protected from the sun. But for my specific uses in the desert, I don't think it quite works out for me.
