Review of Belmont Leisure 7 Pin To 13 Pin Towing Adaptor.The item received one of two 7/13 pin adapters this supplier provides, this particular item connects the 7 pin plug on the vehicle to an EU 13pin cable plug on a trailer, the short wing with holes on top of the adapter used for securely attaching the 13 pin cable plug with a zip tie to keep the adapter secure in case of disconnection from the vehicle.The adapter design also ensures the short wing of the adapter is always on top by having the 7 pin adapter cut out placed at the bottom of the adapter on the opposite end, this to give the correct orientation for connection. The seven pin socket attached to the vehicle would normally have a swing up sprung cap with two teeth to clip over the 7 pin trailer plug, these teeth now clip into the two holes in the end of the adapter wing together with the zip tie to securely hold the socket, adapter and trailer plug together.I must admit it took time and research to achieve secure use of this adapter as no actual instructions are included in the packaging or advertising but found on alternate websites, however this does not detract from the ability of the adapter to give a good solid connection between the 7 pin socket and 13 pin plug, the adapter simple in use just lacking in instruction to achieve a secure connection on an object subject to constant movement.This a good solid connector and works as advertised once one knows how to secure it.

his connector enables you to connect a 7-pin car boat towing set up to a 13-pin caravan electrical system. For this the connector is perfect. I own a caravan, and this is perfect to carry just in case the caravan needs to be towed by some with a 7-pin set up on the car. This also works if your car has a 7-pin set up and you have ventured into caravan in or got a trailer bike rack which wants a 13-pin connector. It won’t work if the car is 13 pin and the accessory to tow is 7- pin. To convert a 7-pin car system to 13-pin is very expensive but this adapter allows the lights to work which is all you legally require at a fraction of the cost. Good value and it works well.

This was exactly what I needed and it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Fits my 7-pin trailer socket on my car perfectly and allows my to plug my 13 pin caravan cable. I previously used an adapter cable which added unnecessary length. This way I can plug in the caravan and not have any excess cable trailing and potentially coming into contact with the tarmac. Its compact size means I can easily store it in a side pocket in the back of the car, so hopefully it'll never get lost and always be available when I need it. Definitely recommended.

This is a great inexpensive solution for adapting old seven pin sockets to new thirteen pin plugs. Waterproof so far!

Locks onto the cable on my bike carrier and lets me use it with the cheapskate electrics on my new car.
