Aloha -The flavorizer bars in my Weber were corroded and falling apart. The flavorizer bars are quite critical for optimal operation of the grill. I was a bit panicked, because I planned to use the grill for our Christmas roast.The new bars are of a lighter gauge than I expected, and the short bars don't fit into the guides on the grill body, but can still be positioned well.The shipment I received was short of a few of the bars, but the seller responded quickly and shipped an entire new set promptly, without the hassle of having to send the initial shipment back. This is customer service at its best!I roasted a 12 lb. Prime Rib with the new flavorizer bars - no flareups and the roast was heavenly

VERY UNHAPPY WITH THESE! THESE ARRIVED WITH HUGE SCRATCHES FROM MACHINING ALONG THE BARS AND CORNERS BENT ON ONE SIDE - THE STEEL USED TO MAKE THESE IS FAR THINNER AND MORE FLIMSY THAN THE ORIGINAL WEBER FLAVORIZER BARS - THE LOWER BARS ARE TOO HIGH AND PREVENT THE UPPER BARS FROM SITTING DOWN IN THEIR PROPER GROOVE AS THEY SHOULD SO THEY JUST FLOAT - DOES NOT FIT MY WEBER EVEN THOUGH I CHECKED WITH THEM FIRST AND THEY SAID IT WOULD! I TRIED TO FLATTEN THEM A BIT SO THEY WOULD SIT LOWER BUT THEY ARE TOO WIDE THEN. WILL NOT ORDER AGAIN!

As others have noted, these are not really the ideal size for a Genesis 1000. The original bars are 1 3/4 inches tall, and these are over 2 inches. So, cutting 1/2 inch square notches in the four corners of the lower bars makes them fit - you don't need to modify the upper bars. I was able to do this with a pair of tin snips since the material is so thin. But that's also the downside. They are much thinner than the originals, which have typically lasted me about 8 years per set. I think I will be lucky to get four years out of these. If I still have my grill after these burn out, I plan to back to the originals since the extra expected longevity would make them a better value.

Being reluctant to retire my Genesis 1000, I decided to do a slow rebuild. This product is an excellent alternative to the OEM product with at least a 1/3 savings. The fit was good but I found the overall height (base to top) is very slightly too high resulting in cross pieces resting on top of the lower bars. The originals left a very small gap between the bars resting on the internal ledge. A little technical because overall, the performance of the grille has not suffered one bit. I'm very happy with the produce and will be repurchased when necessary. An absolute great value.

Nice quality

The lower bars are too big. When the upper bars are installed perpendicular to the lower bars, the height of the lower bars prevents the upper bars from fitting into their grooves. Consequently the upper bars are free to move around, which they do when the Genesis 1000 is moved from our patio into our screen room. The grates must then be removed and the upper bars repositioned. This is not a tidy task. The unit was heated to 600 degrees f. to see if the lower bars would spread and thus decrease their height. No difference. Absence of careful engineering. Or of American common sense.

Was able to revitalize an old Weber natural gas grill to an almost new condition. Saved much money by not having to buy a new grill. Need an extra star for value.

I bought a set of these disregarding the claim that the bottom bars are too high and cause the top bars to sit on top of them and not fit in their slots. The claims are true. They will not fit properly unless you grind out the bottom corners of each bottom bar to get them to sit lower. They are also very thin 20 gauge steel. I don't expect them to last very long. If you need flavorizer bars for a Genesis 1000 - 5000 grill, find another set.
