Q: is this toy 3 or 4 inch in diamiter?

It's 4 inches. I have 15 ferrets and two of these tubes. It's the 2nd set in 8 years and they love them. It gives them lots of playtime and exercise!

Q: Can i put 2 tubes together?

I use small binder clips and they work great. The connectors to the ball pit also connect these when needed

Q: Would this work for rats?

If rats enjoy tunnels, then I am sure it would work.

Q: Is it possible for ferrets to claw or chew through? mine will get holes in garbage bags, so I keep him away from them.

Yes it's most definitely possible for them to chew and or claw through but it's much tougher than a garbage bag it will take a lot of clawing as far as chewing not so much but there is metal in it which may prevent them from chewing on it.

すぐに縮んでしまう

20年近く前に同じようなものを使用していましたが（マーシャルだったと思いますが正確にはわかりません）、その当時とのものとビニールの素材が違うのか、伸ばしてもすぐに縮んで元に戻ってしまいます。その為まともにトンネルとして遊べません。商品写真のように固結びのようにしてみましたが、それでもどんどん縮んでいってしまいます。数日伸ばしたまま固定して放置してみましたが、それでも結局元に戻ってしまいます。両端を何かに固定できるようにしなければ正直使い物にならないと思います。
