I have been a Thermophore customer for many years, as their products are excellent quality & last a long time (my last one lasted for many years). I have chronic neck & back issues, so this large, well-made, soft heating pad works great for me. It reaches all the areas I need it to, providing soothing heat & comfort. I highly recommend the version with the switch that automatically turns the Thermophore pad off when the switch is no longer held - a safety feature to prevent burns (I've been known to fall asleep while using it!). The sticker price is high, but well-worth the cost for what you get.

I have chronic neck pain and I have been on the search for the hottest heating pad I can find. This is definitely it. Apparently heating pads are regulated and only allowed to get so hot but this thing will straight up burn your skin. I usually put an extra barrier between. Beware it does not have an on/off switch, there is a button you have to hold down (I think this is why it’s allowed to get so much hotter than a regular heating pad) the button is no problem though I put a piece of tape over it to hold it down. If you’re like me I know you’re searching for the hottest one you can find and this is it!

This is my 3rd Thermophore heating pad over probably 30 plus years, and I’ve loved them all. The latest design appears to have improved upon the deadman switch design which was the only con I ever had about them. The new switch feels much more natural and comfortable in the hand than the last two heating pads I bought from them. The pad itself is pretty large, and covers my entire back. It is also long enough to wrap around both legs if that’s what you need to heat.The jacket that comes with the heating pad is sort of like felt and provides a “moist heat” feeling which feels really good.These heating pads have each lasted years and years, so while the price may seem a little high, you’re buying a quality pad that performs very well and can last a long, long time. I recommend these highly.

I asked a physical therapist friend where he got his amazing heating pad and hunted this one down as a Christmas present. It is wonderful for sore muscles and achy bones. Somehow, it pulls moisture from the air and delivers moist heat! SOooOo nice!A couple of fixes on things and this would be perfect! I don't like is the fact that you have to hold the button or sit on the button for the thing to work. My friend just had a rubber band around the button, but the pad gets firecracker hot, so that is a no-no. Definitely not for use with children, pets, elderly, infirm or people who can't respond to stimuli! The switch is pretty cheap and since the cord is nice and long, I ended up stepping on the switch and cracking it almost immediately. Be careful about that. It seems weirdly far away from the heating pad itself (like 3 and 1/2 or 4 feet) and it's long enough to rest on the floor when plugged in, not the bed, so it's easy to stomp around on and since the switch is thin plastic, it...duh....breaks.This is the best heating pad I have ever owned. It's huge, too. One other thing, the cover is a fuzzy white material that seemed to attract pet hair and dust, so I cut a hole in an old pillow case, put the cord through and made a second cover to keep the fuzzy while stuff off my clothes and to protect the cover.

I will be asking for a refund on this one. Not only does the pad not actually have an on switch, but one that you literally have to HOLD DOWN constantly to keep it on, but it also still, despite this annoyance, has an automatic shut off that cannot be disabled. On the upside it is nicely packaged, doesn't smell like chemicals as many do, and has a soft, removable pad for washing. It gets and stays reasonably hot while you're HOLDING DOWN THE BUTTON but is desperately annoying to use and lacking many features (adjustable heat, timer, a way to fasten it in place) found on many less expensive options. Avoid.

THIS IS ONE OF THE POTENTIAL BEST HEATING PADS THAT I HAVE EVER USED. I WAS WHIMPERING WITH PLEASURE AS THE INTENSE HEAT INFUSED MY BODY WHEN I FIRST STARTED USING IT. I USED IT ABOUT A WEEK AFTER I BOUGHT IT AND IT WAS NOT HEATING UP AS QUICKLY ONE DAY AND WHEN IT DID IT SLOWED DOWN AFTER A LITTLE BIT AND IT WAS JUST REALLY WARM. WTF????? I BOUGHT FOUR OF THESE. IT IS THE BEST TO USE AFTER HIKING FOR MILES IN THE WILDERNESS. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO HAVE FIXED ITSELF DAYS AFTERWARDS..... I'M COMPARING THE HEATING PAD SIZES I BOUGHT TO SEE WHICH ONES GENERATE HEAT FASTER AND RETAIN IT FOR AS LONG AS MY FINGER IS ON THE BUTTON. SO FAR, THE MEDIUM SIZE HEATS UP FASTER AND IT'S PRACTICALLY SCALDING. "YUMM" I USE THAT ONE ON UNDER MY LEGS AND IT'S LIKE A SPA TREATMENT ON MY WORN OUT LEGS. IT FEELS SO GOOD. I USE THE LARGE ONES FOR MY NECK AND BACK. THE LARGE ONES SEEM TO TAKE A BIT LONGER TO HEAT UP AS CAN BE EXPECTED AND SLOWLY BUILD UP TO AN INTENSE HEAT. SO DELICIOUS WHAT THE HEAT DOES.MY ONLY LEFTOVER ISSUE IS WITH THE SELLER. I SENT THEM AN EMAIL VIA AMAZON REQUESTING RETURN INFO, AND NEVER GOT A RESPONSE BACK ABOUT RETURNING SOME HEATING PADS I BOUGHT THAT I BOUGHT TOO MANY OF. I HAD TO FILE A CLAIM AND FINALLY I GOT A RESPONSE BACK. MAYBE THEY WERE BUSY, BUT IT WAS IRRITATING. I DECIDED TO KEEP ALL OF THE HEATING PADS I BOUGHT IN THE END. IF YOU DO RETURN THE HEATING PADS, THEY NEED TO BE ""NOT USED"" AND DEPENDING WHAT KIND OF USE IT LOOKS LIKE YOU GOT OUT OF IT, THEY STATE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL BE CHARGED A RESTOCKING FEE. JUST A THOUGHT.THESE ARE POTENTIALLY ONE OF THE BEST HEATING PADS. THE BUTTON YOU PRESS IS A GOOD IDEA BECAUSE IT DOES GET PRETTY SCALDING. YOU DON'T WANT TO FORGET AND LEAVE THIS ON SOMEWHERE. ONE OF THE THINGS IT COULD DO IS MAKE HEAT MARKS ONTO FURNITURE. I KNOW THAT FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. I HAD MY LEGS ON IT, AND THE WIRES MADE WIRE MARKS ONTO SOME FABRIC FURNITURE. THE MARKS DON'T COME OUT FROM WHAT I CAN SEE. I USE THIS ON MY BED ON TOP OF MY THICK COMFORTER USUALLY.I WOULD BUY THIS HEATING PAD AGAIN. IN COMPARISON TO A SPA TREATMENT, YOU GET EQUIVALENT RELAXATION THERAPY IN MY OPINION WELL WORTH WHAT YOU PAY FOR IT. ALTHOUGH I REALLY HOPE THAT IT HOLDS OUT FOR AT LEAST A YEAR, OTHERWISE I MIGHT NOT BUY IT AGAIN......
