Home brewing must….
Great size for home brewing 5 gallons of beer or wine. Easy lid removal with a no leak seal and great design.

Taller than regular five gallon buckets, but same diameter.
Good quality bucket. I use it for a camping potty because it is taller than regular five gallon buckets, and the top fits those toilet seat pop-on covers.

Works as intended, one time use lid
The bucket, is a bucket. It is thick walled and has a very tight seal on the lid. I have no concerns about anything getting in my batch. The rubber gasket for the airlock is very tight as well, but the airlock does just barely squeeze in. It is also very helpful to have a specific gravity chart directly on the bucket, I used a dry erase marker to mark the original instead of writing it down and loosing the paper. My only complaint is the lid. It is one of the tear off lids, and therefor one time use. I like to check my brew periodically for a specific gravity test and a taste test, but that is off limits with this bucket (unless you plan to rack into smaller batches after the first couple weeks). I would be willing to pay more for a screw on lid that I can continue to use in the future.

Please tell customers the the lid black gromit is taped to the underside of the lid
Great bucket but I thought it did'nt come with the black gromit in the lid for the air lock so I was going to return it.Pleases inforrm customers that the gromit is taped to the underside of the lid.Other than that great product I can't wait to start brewing.

Great size bucket! Lid stays VERY FIRMLY IN PLACE.
Lids are VERY VERY VERY difficult to remove after they're on. But, no leaking or worrying about spills while moving when full. So you win some/lose some.I brew 5lbs of coffee in 5gallons of water in these and they are absolutely the perfect size!Very sturdy and worth the extra few dollar compared to the 5gallon buckets for portioning out my 5gal water/5lb coffee that won't fit in a standard bucket.Lid comes with a rubber lined hole.

Poor design, unnecessarily difficult. Awful.
I've used a TON of brew buckets before. This thing is the worst bucket I've ever used. First of all, It's much taller and skinnier than other buckets which have a much wider mouth. When you're trying to pour say 6 gallons of wine must from one container into this, it's nice to have the added width to avoid spilling chances. The real issue is the absolute crappy lid. For anyone that has bought wine must before like for a white wine, they come in sealed buckets where you have to rip a tab on the lid and then rip that all the way around to unseal the lid. That's what this thing came with. WHY? I didn't even notice that and put the lid on a white wine I wanted to ferment. A day in I wanted to stir off some of the CO2 and add some nutrient. I had to tear that tab and rip the ring of plastic off the lid to get it off, and even after doing that it was the hardest, loudest, most pain in the ass lid to get off. ANY and EVERY other brew bucket I've ever used, the lid is easy to snap on, produces a tight seal, and comes off with minimal effort. How this thing made it to production with this design is a mystery. Will never buy this crap again and quite frankly might leave them on the sidewalk for someone to take.Any positives? Sure. The bucket is lightweight, strong and the bucket part is easy to clean. The lid? Not easy to clean well. What's mind boggling is I've used this companies 7.9 gallon fermenter which doesn't have the RIDICULOUS lid, and it's worked just fine. Bad, bad design on this one.
