Easy, works well
The hardest part was finding a pair of soda bottles (I don't drink soda normally), lol. Setup was easy.I rinsed out the two bottles, dumped in citric acid (power mixed with water) into one then baking soda with water into the other. I squeezed HARD a few times to get things going and it's been going on it's own since then.At the start the pressure was the bottom of the green zone (1kg/cm3) on the gauge. That worked. It took a few days dripping 1bpm and the pressure slowly built up closer to the top of the green zone (2kg/cm3) and the bpm was a little higher. Now it fluctuates a little on it's own, as does the bubble rate. That's ok, I just want some CO2 in my tank, I don't need it at a perfect steady 30ppm. I'm actually happy keeping it lower just like I do with liquid ferts.

Only lasted a couple months
When it works, it’s wonderful. However, the valve to control the output of co2 stopped working after about a month and a half of use. Will continuously put out co2, no matter how much you close it. Also got a hole/leak in the tube going to the pressure gauge. Both of these issues cause it to blow through your co2, and can be dangerous to your livestock if you let it run constantly. Plus just a waste of money on citric acid and baking soda. However, when it works, it’s great and an affordable solution for people that want to dip their toes in co2.

Just do them over the sink and you will be fine. Ultimately
I was a little nervous buying the kit because this is a Chinese product that others were very critical off. I am now convinced the negative reviews are fake. The kit worked exactly as advertised and was actually much easier to install then I expected. I had to watch a YouTube video because the instructions are difficult to follow. (You can tell they were written by someone not fluent in English) That is my sole criticism about the kit.The gas lasts about a week, so go with a more expensive system if you want to avoid the weekly maintenance. I disagree with other reviews stating that the change outs get messy. Just do them over the sink and you will be fine.Ultimately, I decided to upgrade to paintball system because I went from a 30 gallon tank to a 55 gallon tank. However, I would recommend this kit to anybody who owns a 30 gallon tank or smaller.

Able to adjust the flow rate of CO2.
The product works as stated and is easy to adjust all the way down to one bubble every few seconds to several bubbles a second. I am trying an experiment to see if this type of CO2 generator can be used with a bug whacker to attract Mosquitoes (along with an Octenol Mosquito Attractant Cartridge like the one for Flowtron). Mosquitoes are attracted to humans by CO2 from breathing, Skin sent (Octenol), warmth (the bug whacker) and movement (they have poor eyesight until they are close). The experiment continues for a cheap method to kill the little buggers. I am hoping that this CO2 generator provided some results. BTW, I did not have 2L soda bottles so I used 1L bottles and halved the amounts of the ingredients.

Needle valve faulty in 1 month/ requires CONSTANT fiddling
After about a month of use, the needle valve has stopped opening. It's a serious problem, and probably gonna end up ditching this kit all together because of this. Also, this diy kit works in theory but in reality you're gonna have to be constantly fiddling with it as it will lose pressure if you aren't shaking the mixture several times throughout the day.For the longest time I believed I had a leak until I realized it just wasn't mixing in a timely manner. The siphon works perfectly, just inherently flawed with how the citric acid kinda sits on top of the baking soda mixture and takes a while to actually mix. This causes constant pressure drops and you'll have to fiddle with it ALOT to keep a steady bubble rate.

Will get the job done if you don’t mind tinkering!
I waited awhile before reviewing this item since I wanted to really use it before commenting. This system is a Yay/Boo item. It will do the job and is pretty easy to set up and maintain but you will be spending a lot of time tweaking the valve over the course of a day.First let me advise you to get a bubble counter and a second valve. You’re going to need that second valve to help control the gas after the first month because the valve on the until just doesn’t seem to seal after using it for awhile and you do not want to overcrank the knob. This unit is also not powerful enough for the average co2 diffuser. At least not for me. It’s okay cause an air stone is working okay for the time being. The other issue is blockage in the tubing itself on the baking soda side. You’ll want to blow the chucks out of it during the refill to keep things flowing.I would also suggest buying a 10lbs bag of citric acid and a big box of baking soda. Overall price per charge works out better that way. If you have a postal scale to get precise weight, even better. Otherwise it’s about 3/4 cup of citric acid and baking soda to achieve 200 grams.I’m using this on a 65 gallon tank and replacing ingredients about every 3-5 days. In hindsight, this would probably be better for smaller tanks but I’ve had “green” readings on my co2 indicator more often than not and can visually see my plants doing better than they would without it. (I have two other, smaller, low tech tanks without co2 and they can’t compete with the difference in growth on this one.)Overall I think it’s worth it if you have the time and patience to play around with it or are using it on a smaller tank. It is probably worth it if you want to get a proper co2 setup but just need some time to save up for one.

Works great, make sure seals are fully seated
Works great and runs for weeks when properly set up. I've chosen to remove the long tube (with the 'y' adapter) from inside the baking soda bottle, as it's gotten clogged from time to time, and at one point actually backflowed into the citric bottle which caused pressure to rise dramatically. Once this long tube was removed, it's worked ever since without a problem; isn't clear to me why this tube is in there in the first place

Works, but the pressure guage say it's not attaining high enough pressure.
The pressure gauge seems to read low, but the bubble counter says it's producing the correct amount of CO2....long as it works well, it's a good deal for the money.
