A Genuine OHTO Refill
This is a genuine OHTO PS-107NP refill...what does that mean? It's a refill in a standard Parker G2 format (not Pilot G-2!), filled with old-school oil-based ballpoint ink. This means that it will write on more surfaces than water-based Gel or Rollerball pens, BUT since the ink is a thick viscous goo, there is more resistance when you write than you get from a Gel or Rollerball pen. Ballpoint ink is less likely to smear, since it dries very quickly; a bonus for "Lefties". Also, the ink is more a very dark grey shade than black Gel or Rollerball inks. However, ballpoint ink will NOT bleed through the paper like Gel or Rollerball ink will; you can write on the reverse side of the paper no matter how low the quality of the paper is. Finally, a refill with ballpoint ink will write longer than a Gel refill with the same size of ink capacity and point width. The "7NP" part of this refill's designation indicates that the tungsten carbide ball at the tip that presses the ink onto the paper is 0.7mm in diameter, and the tip is a Needle Point (not cone shape like most other pen tips). Performance is identical to both shapes of a refill's tip, but Needle Points obscure less of your writing surface; useful for writing in really small spaces or very small script...and it looks cool. The refill is made mostly from clear plastic. Why is that important? It's not...unless you have "range anxiety" about how much ink is left in your refill. Most refills for Parker G2 pens are made from metal or opaque plastic, so unless you have X-Ray vision, you wouldn't know when you're likely to run out, but with this refill you can see how much you have left...and when to order/carry a replacement refill.

Super Bad
Okay, so I only had one of these and I don't know if mine was just defective. It was seriously bad and inconsistent, scratching into my paper. Could barely see the writing where it wrote. Not recommended.

For me this one of the best, if not THE best, ballpoint pen refill on the market
I used to use fountain pens, and then rollerballs, and finally gel pens, but I gravitated back to ballpoints because they last longer, don't smear as easily, and because, with the cheap paper they make me use at work, there isn't as much show-through, and there is no bleeding on cheap paper, either. The problem is that I like three things: 1) a fine line, 2) no globbing or smearing, and 3) a line that isn't heavily saturated (like a dark jet black). I have always wanted a ballpoint pen that would write in a dark gray rather than a saturated black (I realize I am in the minority in this wish).Well, the Ohto solves all my problems. It writes a nice, fine line without being scratchy. It puts out a black line, but it's a light black, not a dark/saturated black; definitely not gray, but also not a bold black. It globs a tiny bit once in a long while, but much less than other ballpoint pens with fine tips; even less of this than the much-heralded Uniball Jetstream ballpoint pens.In short, the Ohto is fantastic! I absolutely love it. If you like a fine line, with ink that is not too dark, look no further than this refill. It fits all pens that take Parker-style refills, which means it can be used in high-end pens such as Pelikan, Nettuno, Visconti, Montegrappa, etc., etc., etc.

Reliable but not that dark
It's a good replacement for your OHTO GS1

Grey ballpoint
Thin grey line. Standard ballpoint. Nothing special.

Not as magical as you would first think.
Came into this refill expecting a dark gold line and rollerball like performance. End of the day it performs like a standard ballpoint. Internet hype at its finest.

Junk
Don't write good. To light ordered better ones

Poor writing experience
This pen refill performs a bit better than the Bic Stic pens. It’s that faint of a line.
