A must have for true Ethiopian cuisine
The Addis Griddle is much better than I anticipated. It is very well made and it has the best heavy duty nonstick cooking surface I have seen. Injera, the large Ethiopian flatbread, is made from a sourdough batter consisting of only flour and water but the cooked flatbread literally slides off the griddle. I can slide the large sheets of injera on to a platter with my finger tips. I use parchment paper to keep the layers of injera separated while they cool.Samuel (seller) included his telephone number with the shipment. I sent him a text concerning a minor question and received a response in a matter of minutes. The assembly was relatively fast. I did have to make a minor adjustment (with Sumuel's blessing) using a screw driver.I purchased the griddle thinking it would be used on special occasions, but my injera making skills have greatly improved since purchasing the Addis Griddle. Now, I keep a container of sourdough on the counter and make injera multiple times per week - it only takes a couple of minutes to cook. Homemade injera is better than what you get in the restaurants, they blend in cheaper flours with the teff to keep their costs down. If you like "real" injera this griddle will not disappoint.PROS:- Superior thick nonstick cooking surface should last for years.- The large vented lid is perfect for allowing just the right amount of steam to escape.- The dedicated warm setting is handy for reheating flatbreads and baked goods.- The only electrical component that could fail is the digital heat control unit which is easily replaced and covered by a multiyear warranty.CONS:- Minor assembly (a couple of screws) - attach legs to griddle and handle to cover.

Exactly what my household needed.
I live in a very mixed-culture house. We eat injera almost every other day and had been purchasing it pre-made from a local restaurant once a week or so. Long story short - with the lockdown from COVID we decided to make our own injera and be more self-sustaining (rather than relying so much on purchasing our food).Ordered this Mitad and it arrived I think even a day or two earlier than expected. The seller included a very nice note which appeared to be hand-written and said that if we needed anything or if there were any issues we could call or e-mail him directly. This was a nice gesture but so far has been unnecessary as we have had no issues.I think traditional Mitads are a couple of inches wider in diameter (18-22 inches?) but this 16" has been perfect for our needs and we've noticed no perceptible downsides to having "smaller" injera. For a house and a single family this is the perfect size. Who really wants a 22" appliance or the need to store a stack of 22" injera somewhere in their kitchen? So I would say that the "smaller" 16" Mitad has been a positive experience for us.The functionality of the appliance itself is super easy to use and understand. There aren't a lot of buttons, which is good, and the buttons that are on the controller make sense and do what you would expect them to do. Raise and lower temperature. Turn on/off, etc.We have made probably over 1,000 injera at this point and have been able to save money from buying it pre-made at the store and also maintain a little bit more self-sufficiency during this pandemic. This was a wonderful purchase that I am so glad that we made.Product has been amazing and shows no signs of wear/tear or signs of slowing down. I expect to be using this same product for several more years at least and would purchase again if needed and recommend this to a friend or anyone looking to make Injera in their own home.Side note: we have also made other foods on this mitad (other traditional Ethiopian breads, dabo, ambasha, etc).10/10 product and seems like customer support would be there if they were needed. Thank you!

GET THIS FOR LEFSE!
This griddle is AMAAAAZING! I have learned (self taught) over the last five years how to make lefse (Norwegian potato flat bread). As a beginner, I started out with the lefse griddle set that comes up first when searching on Amazon and online which has a single ring for the heating element. I kind of felt that my old griddle wasn't cutting it anymore (probably never did) so I looked for a new one. The design of the ADDIS griddle with three heat rings cut my cooking time IN HALF and created the perfect and even bits of browning that are a hallmark of good lefse! There were no hot spots and the lefse cooked so evenly!I ordered this thinking it would be here around the 14th, but it came early and as luck would have it I had a batch of lefse ready to cook for the holidays. It has a sturdy design, assembled in mere minutes, there was an included screw driver with a magnetized tip (!), I was cooking within 20 minutes. I blew through 70 pieces in a little more than 90 minutes and had NO FAILED PIECES. Some of the other impressive features are the fact that the prong is grounded (three prong), the probe is digital with auto shut off, it heats super fast and evenly, returns to temperature almost instantaneously between pieces. And I had a personal note from Samuel who said, "Thank you for purchasing our product. Your support and trust in us is much appreciated. If there's any issue with your order, please call/text me at XXX-XXX-XXXX, thank you Samuel." I sent a quick text and he answered! It was a very nice touchpoint in the buying experience. If you're thinking of getting a griddle for lefse, GET THIS ONE.

This is the best megogo we have ever used
Makes really good injera, light weight and efficient.Update: less than three months it stopped working. It started to have uneven temperature and stopped working. Contacted the seller but the return price is half of the price just one way almost 100 dollars both ways. So don't waste your money.
