I couldn't open it either until a nice person on Amazon.com told me to PRESS on it, not to try to pry it open like a compact. It works. Just press firmly, just to the right of the mirror.

Does Great Hair Day damage or clog existing hair follicles? Should it be washed out every day?

In the ingredient list it states "Fragrance" is there any smell to this at all? I get headaches

For me, it had a very strong fragrance that gave me a headache. I can't use it though the color was just what I wanted. Very disappointed.
