I bought this kit after reading reviews of this and many other products, for my first veg fermentation adventure. It's proven to be wonderful - the pickle pipe lids (mason tops) are very effective and the glass pebbles really helpful. It includes a useful booklet, along with the wooden tamper. I do think it's a little expensive considering the component parts, but is extremely well packaged (this can be used to maintain the set well) and certainly makes fermenting easy. As a matter of principle though, I do believe the booklet should contain some key safety guidelines for fermenting vegetables, as there is an outside risk of food poisoning if the preparation isn't handled responsibly, such as how to wash the veg and clean the counters and equipment to a high standard, and monitor the ferments for mould and spoilage etc.

It says it's a complete fermentation kit but it is not as it does not include jars or lids (screw bands). In this case it is very expensive for 4 glass weights and a 'pickle packer' (a rolling pin will do). The 'pickle pipes' are useless without the correct lids.

These are excellent quality and packaged really well for mailing.

I bought this set because it was the same price or cheaper than buying all the individual parts. I really just wanted the masher but I also knew I would eventually want all the other parts as well.I originally was not going to buy these because of the nipple part. I’ve read that over time it can become weak and not work as well for fermentation which was my original plan.I now use them for a variety of different applications and am very happy I bought them and they have the nipple.I use homemade face cleaner. The nipple allows me to squeeze out the amount I want without wasting any.I make a homemade hair wash that’s all liquid. The nipple works perfectly to squeeze it out on my hair in the shower while not allowing extra water into the container and contaminating it.I don’t know how they work for fermentation but I suspect they would be perfect.The glass weights fit inside a regular mouth mason jar nicely. They are easy to put in and take out.The masher is really ergonomical for me to hold. It feels comfortable and sturdy.The little book it comes with is nice. I haven’t tried anything yet but the recipes look easy to use and directions easy to follow. It’s not jam packed with information but it certainly has a little bit of a wide enough variety that everyone should be able to find something to try to get their feet wet with fermentation.All in all really happy with the purchase. It came Well packaged and looked very professional!Would buy again and recommend to others.

After waiting over a month for delivery and swear they said they only had for the wide mouth Mason jars so I bought a case of jars to be ready, the kit arrived for small mouth jars😠! Quality kit, poor quality shipping and shipping department.

Nicely made great product for small batches easy to use good value
