Frontier Co-opOrganic Mediterranean Oregano Leaf, Cut & Sifted, Fancy Grade, 1 Pound Bulk Bag

The rating is based on my last purchase of 16 oz bag of Fronteir Cut & Sifted Mediterranean Organic Oregano. I have previously ordered this product twice and each time it was great - fragrant, fresh. We use it for cooking, tea, seasoning, medicinal. The last two bags I received from amazon were somewhat musty and off in fragrance and color. Both bags were labeled Best By Sep 2020, lot # 281.7255. I called Frontier 1800-669-3275 inquiring about the off product leaving my info. and product info. but they never returned my call. Amazon is not able to assist with quality control which is why I received a second "off" bag. I was refunded by Amazon but still disappointed that I did not receive an explanation of the issue from Amazon or Fronteir. I am not confident in the product at this time and it does not seem as though anyone involved in the transaction is interested in restoring my confidence. I will be trying another brand.

The quality of the oregano itself was ok, a little stemmy perhaps, but not too bad. The whole thing was ruined by the fact that there was a lot of tiny sand particles throughout the bag. Too small to see as one dishes it out, but not to small to feel when you bite down on it later. At first I was hoping it was just a fluke but that horrible, enamel grinding CRAAACK has ruined at least 7 meals in a row that I've used it in. I guess that's why the basil in small jars at the store is so much more expensive than this. I assume that removing all the grit is a rather involved, and therefore expensive, process. Had the same problem with their 1# bag of basil.

I'm a fan of this brand. They're products rarely let me down. This is a HUGE bag of oregano. I am Sicilian/Italian and very fussy about my herbs and spices because I cook everything from scratch.I used to grow my own, but Arizona desert heat does not allow for good crops. I prefer the Greek/Mediterranean over the Mexican oregano. It has a sweeter flavor, not as "earthy". This is amazing from the aroma to the flavor it's really fresh. Mama and I love it! Absolutely recommend!

I actually purchased this by mistake, I passed on it b/c I needed about 2 oz and there was a 5oz "Naturvibe Botanicals" oregano, so I bought that. Forgot to take this OUT of my cart and here we go, passing out oregano to friends and family now.Anyway, glad I got it because I could put them side-by-side and try. This was hand's down better imho. Threw the other one out, didn't even want to give it away.I vacuum sealed the unused in Seal a Meal bag, so it'll last probably 3 years that way and remain fresh.I have purchased a lot of Frontier in the past, I like their products.

This has been a HUGE "win" for us on our family farm - although I imagine there are a multitude of other good uses for it, as well.We, the humans in the family, regularly cook with oregano, and also use oregano oil capsules, and oregano essential oil to treat illnesses. We wanted to find a way to give the same benefit to our animals that was not completely cost prohibitive.This bag of oregano is the answer! We mix this into the food for chickens, cats, horses, rabbits, and goats. We use it whenever anyone seems to be feeling "down," has the sniffles, or we otherwise suspect trouble. They also get a dose after bad weather, when muddy conditions make trouble more likely. This oregano has proven very effective, and seems to be a great quality product.Since we feed and care for our animals in a non-GMO, minimal medication way, this is a terrific way to help keep them healthy without resorting to medication at the drop of a hat, and without breaking the bank.
