It amazes me the things that China can accomplish as far as merchandising. This cabinet is designed to be shipped in a compact box and assembled by the buyer. The packaging is excellent; no damage and easy to unpack. The assembly may be challenging for some, but I did not have a problem. The drawers took some "persuasion" to fully seat and slide into the cabinet. Other than that, this was an easy assembly and a fine cabinet for $169 (purchased Sept 2024) - it seems just fine. As expected with Chinese-made self-assembly products, the assembly hardware (screws, nuts, and bolts) are not the best quality, but I did not have any issues. The screwdriver that was sent with the product is junk, so don't even try to use it. Buy something like the Vessel 220P2150 ball grip #2 Philips screwdriver to make the job easier with much less chance of damaging the cheap-ish assembly hardware. Take this for what it is worth. It is not the same quality as an $800 HON cabinet, but it is good quality. I expect years of trouble-free use from this cabinet.

Product is amazing. Took a lot of hand muscles to put together tho. The screws were a bit tough to get through in the lid. Upon initial inspection I noticed Minor scratches on one drawer a small deeper one side panel but over all you can’t notice them once it’s all together and the one side panel is against the wall. The product is well built and sturdy. I like that the cabinet locks and that it makes you close one drawer before you can open another to prevent tipping. Definitely holds a ton of files with a lot of weight. If you cannot close your drawers all the way it’s because you need to press the drawer down in the slides more. I like that the instructions gave you a trouble shoot section. It helped me to determine that. Beware to note how the lid comes. I got ahead of myself and took the lock portion off and took a while to figure out how to put back together. I would definitely purchase again. I didn’t address the scratches with the seller because I took longer than a month to put together so outside return window. But I’m still very happy.

the only good thing about it is the packaging. Assembly is tedious with the provided instructions, but it is manageable. Screwing, especially near the edges will require a lot of effort and strength. The cabinet looks sturdy considering it's heavy, but the structure will be wobbly no matter how tight you screw all the places. The drawers don't close fully, seems like a manufacturing/design defect. One of the drawers came with a big scratch. Leaves fingerprints easily. One of my worst purchases on Amazon.

For the price, it's acceptable for home use. The basic installation instructions are okay but there's a couple of areas that are lacking. Here's what I had to do to get the lock working and the drawers in the right position.1. Removing the packing insulation around the locking bar was difficult. Removed a springed clip on both sides of the locking bar to remove the insulation.2. I inserted the key and rotated it before the instruction step, then couldn't raise the side locking levers as shown in the instructions. Had to move one of the locking bar springs to get the side bar up and the levers in the right position.3. Drawers would not initially close, getting caught up on each other or the cabinet. This was because the drawer wouldn't seat well on the drawer slides. Fixed this by opening up the drawer slide clips using a flat head screwdriver. (Insert a flat head screwdriver in the clip and twist to open the clip.) Still needed to use a rubber mallet to drive the drawer into the clip. Make sure to support the drawer slide with one hand while banging on the top of the side of the drawer over the clip.

I assembled this file cabinet by myself in 25 minutes by following the simple, straight forward, and easy to understand instructions. Once the parts are assembled, screws sets, pieces snapped together and tabs bent properly, this cabinet is rock solid and high quality.There are black plastic keepers (pre-installed) on both drawers. These keepers have two functions. One, when the drawer is slid closed you have to give it a slight nudge at the end to engage the keeper. This sets the front of the drawer flush with the top, bottom and sides of the cabinet. Second, the keeper prevents the drawer from sliding back open on it's own.There is also a pre--installed interlock system that allows the user to open only one drawer at a time. If the bottom drawer is open, the top drawer is locked in place and cannot be opened, and vice-a-versa.The user can hang letter size file folders perpendicular to the face of the cabinet. The brackets can also be installed to hang letter size files on one side and legal hanging folders on the other side (front to back) with letter size file folders hung perpendicular in the middle. Two sets of hanging legal size folders, or two sets of letter size folders, can be hung front to back. There are several combinations.I was pleasantly surprised that this cabinet is taller than it appears in the product images. The top of the cabinet is waist high when I am seated in my office chair.This is one fantastic high quality filing cabinet worth every penny I paid for it. I shopped several retailers for filing cabinets and did not find the quality and features I wanted. And their prices were ridiculous. I am very pleased I found this on Amazon.

What I like about the file cabinet it’s very sturdy and the price was right. What I disliked it was very hard to put together we literally had to take it apart twice. The instructions wasn’t clear only after going online we were able to put it together.
