Portmeirion Home & Gifts Small Oval Casserole, Porcelain, White, 21 x 26.4 x 12.3 cm

Bought for my son and his girlfriend's new flat. Stylish but also neutral so it goes with everything. Excellent quality, as ever, from Portmeirion.

Elegant and functional. This arrived beautifully boxed (as does the rest of the range I've now begun to slowly buy).I was surprised at how light weight this is considering the job it has to do, but I soon put it to work making a boeuf bourguignon for 3 hungry adults, which I cooked slowly for a around 3 hours or more. The result was superbly cooked dinner (more than enough for the 3 folks I mentioned), easy to handle casserole dish and not too difficult to clean. I gave it a light soak and going over with a sponge based white scourer (don't use metal scourers you will tarnish it) and it dishwashed perfectly.It also looks great in my kitchen, matching the bread bin, butter dish, roasting dish in the range. I have since acquired the casserole dishes with glass lid - they are hob and oven safe but being ceramic coated (safely so and free of harsh chemicals) they are whiter than the porcelain but nonetheless as beautiful and functional. Hope this helps if you were considering but not sure whether to buy this or anything in the range I listed - buy with confidence, I'm sure glad I did !!

This is a really pretty covered serving dish. Love it because it is such a unique shape and the perfect size for a side dish. It was a Christmas gift for my sister and she loved it! There is a larger covered dish that would make a wonderful mate to the one that I bought if you also need a larger one. Shaped a little different and they make a really nice set. Very happy with my purchase!
