Can I put some water in the bottom and freeze it for a long lasting ice cube?

I wouldn't - 1) it would impact the straw fitting in and working and 2) If the top of the water freezes before it is solid it could warp the metal interior. A The opening is wide enough to accommodate large sized cubes anyway so i really don't see a need. We put in a handful of ice maker crescent shaped cubes and it last all day.

Does it keep liquid warm?

I’m not sure we’ve only used them for cold liquids. But work great for cold milk and iced water.

If the spout is left open, does it leak or drip?

When it’s standing upright? No. If you knock it over? Depending on the position in which it lands & how full bottle is, yes, it can drip.
