NOW Foods Supplements, Organic Chlorella Powder with naturally occurring Chlorophyll, Beta-Carotene, mixed Carotenoids, Vitamin C, Iron and Protein, 1-Pound

I have never taken Chlorella, but on the urging of my friend, I decided to give it a try. I chose the powder because it has less processing than the tablets. I am not sure if the tablets are as potent? and then I don't want to take a handful of tablets either. I mix this powder in water and add stevia and its fine. You can mix it in juice or a smoothie. When put into a smoothie, you really can't taste it even though your smoothie looks green. Sometimes, I put it in my morning hot cereal with the same results.I have a condition called Interstital Cystitis (IC) when has no known cure. It is a very debilitating disease. It also effects the nerves in the bladder and colon. But since taking the Chlorella, I have noticed a big improvement in pain, colon health, digestion and my body is more alkaline which is a plus. I still eat a diet high in vegetables and fruits but by adding the Chlorella its been a real plus to how I feel on a daily basis.With IC, I can't take ANY BRAND of supplements. Chlorella provides all the necessary supplementation I need because it contains vitamins, minerals, amino acids, etc. Its a "Whole Food" so the body can use it more efficiently without any side effects that I would normally get with supplements. Chlorella has been called "nature's perfect food."This is my second order and I will continue to take this great nutritious product for my health. I highly recommend this product for anyone who has health problems.

I have tried other brands, including Jarrow's from Japan's volcanic lake and a U.S. variety, but this one is what it says it is. Spit cell or broken cell chlorella should be microscopic absorbing fibrous material, that you can't digest, and it removes heavy metals from the blood supply in the digestive system that also absorbs nutrients from our food. I found distinct differences in digestive characteristics and too much or more than one teaspoon would be too much. The taste was far better than other brands and not strong and yet fresh. Chlorella has a strong pond water taste in the other brands I have tried, but Now brand really offers a true split cell (At 400x I observed cell pieces of cell walls) the other brands only revealed spherical or thick disc looking objects and clusters of cells. Nice source of Omega 3's and Beta Carotene too.

Simply a great product at a good price. If you are familiar with what your body really needs as opposed to what your body thinks tastes good it is easy to use this product. Best to mix it with your smoothies because the flavor does not enhance your appreciation of the product. But believe me your DNA will appreciate this product as well as Spirulina and Fulvic Minerals to remove your worries about getting enough greens into your food supply. A strawberry and banana(or any fruit combination that you really enjoy) smoothie plus the 3 products mentioned with some cocoa and pure maple syrup for enhancing the flavor along with some raw protein powder can hold your appetite for 4 to 6 hours and re-energize your body by increasing your metabolic rate. I have one everyday for breakfast and drink it all by 12 to 1 pm. I usually make about 40 ounces in my blender and that takes care of my food until well past lunch time. But since it is all I take I occasionally eat an extra piece of fruit if I am working out.

I add it daily to my water and smoothies. I will continue to use it.

Chlorella is a wonderful algae that is great for helping the body to detoxify from heavy metals. Unlike spirulina, the cell walls of chlorella are very tough and need to be manually broken before being ingested. Most chlorella products today are broken cell wall, but you want to check to be sure. I have never had a detox reaction from this chlorella, but folks may want to start using small amounts of this in the beginning. Sun Chlorella gave me skin rashes one time until I lowered the dose. I know this was a detox reaction because THAT chlorella is very pure, I could taste the purity when I chewed the tablet. This chlorella... I can't say anything definitively because it's possible that MY taste has changed, but it's worth saying that the first time I bought this product (powder) it tasted really good and clean. This is my second container and it tastes a little bit different, like it's not quite as delicious. My body is not a scientific testing device but I thought I should mention that. Also in need to mention is the fact that I bought the chlorella tablets from this company once and they were TERRIBLE. They tasted toxic. Chlorella and spirulina are also both high in iron, so if you are deficient, this can be your green superfood and iron supplement. Just take it with lemon juice or something else that contains vitamin C so it can be better absorbed.Where ever you get your chlorella from, just make sure it's good quality. This algae can be very important for all of us who are inundated with toxicity each day from fumes, atmospheric pollutants, pharmaceutical additives, tap water and the ADA (American Dental Association). You can find out in minutes on the internet if the tap water in your municipality is fluoridated. This was done originally under the guise of "strengthening teeth" but we know that people with an abundance of fluoride poisoning have spotty colored teeth. It can also accumulate in the glands within your body and cause all kinds of problems. If you're like me, your well-intending mother gave you little pink fluoride pills throughout your childhood. There is much work to do. Fluoride treatments are still approved in dentist offices and mercury is another metal causing toxicity problems coming from dentists offices.
