From Good to Great: How a Cable Upgrade Transformed My Monitor
I recently had an experience that completely transformed the way I see and enjoy my monitor. It all started with an HDMI cable I was using initially. This cable, which at the time seemed to be of good quality, allowed me to reach a refresh rate of 240 Hz, which wasn’t bad, but I had a feeling my monitor could do more. Recently, I decided to try something different and swapped that cable for a new one: a USB-C with DisplayPort. And wow, what a difference! With this new cable, I managed to set my monitor to 280 Hz, a noticeable jump that you can feel right away. But that wasn’t all—I was also able to enable HDR, something I hadn’t achieved before. The result was astonishing: my monitor felt like a completely different device. The image quality improved dramatically; the colors are now more vibrant, the contrasts deeper, and everything looks incredibly sharp thanks to the HDR. It’s as if I unlocked hidden potential in my setup that was previously held back by the old cable. On top of that, I noticed other benefits I hadn’t anticipated. The tearing—that annoying screen-tearing effect that sometimes showed up in fast-paced games or videos—has practically vanished. The monitor’s response also feels much smoother, making everything from moving the cursor to playing demanding games a more seamless and enjoyable experience. This change didn’t just enhance the visual quality; it improved the overall feel of using it.In conclusion, this simple switch from an HDMI cable to a USB-C with DisplayPort has breathed new life into my setup. My monitor doesn’t just perform better—it looks and feels like a next-level device. Now, with less tearing, a smoother response, and HDR enabled, I’m enjoying a visual experience I never thought my gear was capable of delivering. All thanks to a cable!

Sorted my input lag 38" Dell screen
I had previously tried a USB-C dock, a USB-C to HDMI converter and finally this display port adapter. This was the only device that gives me zero input lag with my Dell 38" monitor.Great quality too.

It works! I get get high refresh rate on 4k Monitor now
I got this, because it's a thunderbolt to Display Port. I needed it to hook up my HP laptop to my MSI monitor. I am mentioning this in case anyone has doubts about whether it can work.I purchased a 4K monitor with a higher refresh rate (160) although all I use it is for office work. I just wanted a smoother display. I was unaware that an HDMI 2.0 cable would have limitations though. My work laptop is an HP Elitebook 840 G8. It has HDMI 2.0 whereas the monitor has 2.1. The laptop does however have a thunderbolt 4 port. Although the manual noted that the limit for a display is 4k at 60HZ, getting this wire let me get 4k resolution with 120Hz and even a 144Hz and 160Hz refresh rate. I found this impressive. This cable helped. One thing I did notice though and I don't know if it has anything to do with the cable however it takes a a bit for the monitor to wake up when the computer goes on. I didn't have this with the HDMI cable. I'm assuming its the wire. A quick change in ports fixes it though.

Perfect for Asus TUF A16 laptop to LG UltraGear 180hz
I bought this to connect my laptop (Asus A16 advantage) to my new LG UltraGear 24" monitor. I was using HDMI and realised that the monitor was limited it 8bit colour at 180hz 1080p rather than the 10bit colour that the monitor is capable of.Because LG put an HDMI port not capable of the screens full bandwidth to safe money, the only way to get it's full potential is over displayport. So I bought this cable and sure enough, I now get the full colour range that my screen supports, including HDR 10 at it's full 180hz.We'll see how long the cable lasts, but it feels well made, so hopefully will last a good long time 🤞
