Pretty decent gadget
This is a reasonably good holesaw. It has the edge over all other hole saws as it’s infinitely variable up to its maximum cut diameter. It uses three small rotating blades spaced at 120 degree increments which can be slid in or out to vary hole diameter. That affords excellent flexibility and removes the need for holesaw kits. However, despite its adaptability the user needs to exercise patience where a very precise cut is required. The three teeth are connected via a simple rotating gear which moves all three simultaneously in or out. The gearing is not precise meaning tolerances can be out by a few millimetres. If your cutting precision holes (as I was) then a lot of care is needed to ensure 100% accuracy in measurement of all three teeth. Each cutting tooth is held in place with an Allen style grub screw so is secure. All in all a good little gadget which will see a lot of use with me - recommended? Absolutely

Not bad for the money
To be fair.. This is a good tool to have.I use this for cutting out for spotlights for the sizes i don't have.Had this for years now and it still gets the job done.

More misses than hits
In theory, this should be useful. In practice, not to much.Major downside is that when drilling holes for pipes you generally want them to be right in the corner of the wall or cabinet. Because of the large fixed metal disk, it's impossible for the hole centre to be closer than 8cm from the corner, regardless of hole size.Another issue is that the three cutting blades are very coarse and tended to 'grab' in flakeboard, you need a drill that can spin at 800 rpm but still have high torque to rotate the disk. Finally, when assembled it's quite tricky to store, most hole-saw sets come in a case to keep everything together, inc. the two different sized allen keys needed for this. The most useful application would be drilling plasterboard for downlights, this tool adjusts to all sizes an installer would encounter, plus it can drill soft plasterboard fine.I'd say it's priced will beyond what a DIYer would consider and the inflexibility of positioning holes would put off many tradespeople.

Well engineered hole saw - but best for use in a pillar drill
This works well in a pillar drill. As it is quite large it needs to be held steadily and starting at a slow speed. It has a limited depth of cut and so needs to only be used on relatively thin material. However, it is easy to adjust the size of hole as the cutter adjust together, rather than having to set each one manually as some cutters need you to do. The build quality is good.

Good idea - but watch how you use it
The sounds like a brilliant bit of kit but in use its not so clever. The idea of a multi bladed or adjustable hole cutting device is possibly a delightful thought and sounds great. I have had quite a few Wolfcraft products over the years and all did basically as they were described and offer great value for money in the tool lines. Setting this device up is quite logical and simple enough - there as usual from this maker assorted picture illustrations on the packaging to guide you through it plus instructions of course - and you get a choice of intermediate sizes so you can set the cutters up (45mm to 130mm size holes capability) and its all basically ‘foolproof’ in the way they are set out. Once you set the blades/cutters to your chosen size, you then insert the pilot drill (supplied) and that is about it really. The cutter will cut to a depth of approx 30mm but it all depends on the thickness and the actual material you are endeavouring to cut an hole in and this is where its a bit tricky. It states it will cut plaster-boards, OSB panels, soft woods such as plywood etc. - so far, so good. I used it on some 8mm thick plywood and to be honest it starts off quite well but about half way through, it becomes a struggle to hold the drill to be honest as if you don’t keep a firm grip on the said drill, it could (I would suggest) want to tear itself out your hand, so matching it to a slow and manageable drill speed is the key to it as the concept is quite sound - I had a similar device some years ago with two cutters and that basically had the same problem and was unstable at some speeds. I have tried this in a drill press (bench drill) and its not so bad but you are limited by the size of the working area of the table on the drill itself so no good if you wanted to cut an hole in the middle of a four foot square panel or middle of a door panel. Overall it’s a good device but you do really need to be very, very careful when using it because as I have pointed out, it can be tricky initially being used in a hand held power drill (most certainly a two hands on the drill job) but like all Wolfcraft products I have used/owned, its very well made and should/would last years I would venture to say. 4 Stars

With care and practice this is very good
The specs are sound enough: being able to cut holes of 45-130mm to a depth of about 30mm. And in practice it does the job, but you have to be careful (as I suspect with other similar products) because as the hole gets deeper it does become harder to hold the drill, so just take it very easy and take your time and you'll get there. And so, in principle, this is a great device, and when used patiently and correctly, it will do the job. I suppose that's the case with all power-tools: these are not toys! All in all, this is an excellent, well-made and thoughtfully designed product.

Très bon matériel
Solide, efficace.
