Personally, I love it! A wide open adventure with an overarching mystery at its core (that is, the galactic core!) Perhaps it helps that I never monitored any of the apparent pre-launch hype so I came to it with an open mind. A lot of the criticisms I've heard amount to nit-picking. For example, the lack of a hand-holding tutorial gives you a sense of achievement as you discover how the game operates. Again, a limited inventory especially at the beginning forces you to think carefully about what you're going to carry and why AND fuels the urge to find bigger and better. That and the procedural generation gives the opportunity of an experience truly unique to you, the player. But what really makes this game special to me is the sense of wonder. Heading off into space - coming into land on a planet never knowing what you might find - no other game that I know of creates such a sense of anticipation. This special addition has some additional goodies!Sure there's a lot of gathering and resource management, which isn't to everyone's taste. If you just want to run around and blast aliens mindlessly, then this game probably isn't for you. But if you like space oriented games and want a chill out experience you'll want to return to again and again, then repair your ship, fuel your engines and blast off!

Other reviews can put it in better words than I
Despite all the muddled press, I've put in so many hours into this experience. Other reviews can put it in better words than I, but my experience has been breathtaking at times, monotonous at others. Sure it's flawed but the 'moments' you get from this game are wondrous and unique. If you want to be spoon fed your story and script then look elsewhere. If you want non stop action and direction look elsewhere. The experience is decisive but for me it's an experience and game I can't find elsewhere. Love it.

Outer box damaged. Interior intact. Disappointing.
The outer box is ripped on both ends. It's ripped so much that someone could have easily just taken the content out. Highly disappointing as it was a birthday gift for my twin sister. The tin, disk, art book and the comic are all in good nick. Just a shame about the outer sleeve/box.

The box was in terrible condition
The outer box was ripped to bits, there's no way of holding it without stuff falling out (just to show you the extent of the damage). The game is good but the box annoyed me as I wanted it for my little brother's birthday

Very disappointing!!!!
The contents of this product arrived in good condition. The limited edition box however is significantly damaged. This is extremely dissatisfying given I paid more for the limited edition version. I am looking for some form of compensation

This can be amazing if you know where to look and how to play it..Unfortunately it requires a bit of intelligence to play which I think is why some misleading reviews have been published about the game.In all great game hours of content worth the price incredible innovative and stunning visuals.

A Beautifully Flawed Exuberant Sci Fi Epic.
For its epic scope and unparalleled ambition alone No Mans Sky deserves a positive review and its mind blowing near infinite procedurally generated Universe is something that I'm still unable to comprehend, it might as well be magic as I am yet astounded and mystified by it at the same time. If you have monitored the tone of the internet in regards to No Mans Sky it certainly is divisive and whilst I myself did not follow the pre launch hype as close as others, I came into this title open minded and unhindered by ridiculously high expectations.Accompanied by a 4K Television, apart from the resource management and liberating sense of exploration, its the colours in this game which I adore. Floating serenely over a twinkly exuberant Hot Pink Cosmos high above a planet I discovered and have mined hollow, looking over the horizon, revelling in the thrill of the unknown, because in space its never just black and white, its Acid Yellow or Deep Atlantic Blue or Dark Ruby Red, you can break through the atmosphere of one planet, dog fight in space before landing on a Planet that no one else on Earth has discovered, all without a loading screen.Unlike "traditional" games it doesn't spoon feed everything to the player, so the Average gamer without being told what to do or where to go next lacks the resolution and drive to keep pushing on into the unknown. I wont disagree with people who say that the infinite collecting and mining of valuable Metals and Ores to create new technology to power and run your growing space craft can become tedious, depending how long you have been playing, but it serves a purpose as it does in all Sandbox style games, I didn't tire of it in Far Cry, Red Dead Redemption, Assassins Creed etc etc, because your moving towards something instead of staying inanimate. No Mans Sky's Visual Variety for me personally is its strength, stumbling upon an untouched Vista in the dead of night, chronicling the movements and habits of each worlds unobserved creatures, being in a field of swaying vegetation as a tropical storm rumbles in the distance or swimming in the depths of the ocean under an Aurora lit up sky, for a game about Adventure and Discovery it ticks all the boxes and the fact that such a small team could ascertain such technical achievements with limited resources is astounding, the well publicised Bugs and Crashes are irritating but not game changing, the shooting/Combat in the game isn't the strongest and the sentinels are more of a annoyance than Galaxy threatening behemoths but I can deal with that because of how excellent everything else is and on a finishing note I have had the No Mans Sky Soundtrack playing in the background as I have been typing this, Music For An Infinite Universe By 65DaysOfStatic, I would definitely recommend, reminiscent of Sigur Ros.This particular edition of No Mans Sky comes in a hallowed out thick cardboard book opening box, which I like, the contents being a stylish Steel book with your copy of the game, A PS4 Dynamic Theme, which is also very cool, A 48 page Mini Art book by Dark Horse which considering that a full size Art Book hasn't been released yet is an imperative inclusion, An Adventures In No Mans Sky Comic with a contribution somehow by Dave Gibbons of Watchmen fame and some bonus DLC none of which I remember using apart from the 10,000 Credits, definitely worth getting if you can get it for a reasonable price.
