Q: With it work with angled (cathedral) ceiling?

It will not work on an angled ceiling. If you find a way to cut a celing block with the appropriate angle to set the bottom at a 90* angle. Hope that makes sense.

Q: Is it possible to hang bikes from the top tube instead of the wheels or seat/handlebar? I wonder if twisting the hooks 45degrees would cause issues.

That is what i did with mine. I found the seat back did not hold so well. You should also be able rotate the hooks without much issue. I have one rotated 90 degrees.

Q: What is the width of the mounting bracket? From the picture it appears too wide for the screws on both sides to both catch the joist in the ceiling?
