How well does it protect the fishes smile?

Has anyone had trouble with the telescopic net? The area that's supposed to untwist, allowing the net to extend will not budge.

I've had no problems with telescoping only thing I added was a strip of velcro to keep it folded up..personally i think its a great net for the price,perfect size for fluke and bass..

Is this net strong enough for 11-12 lb fish?
