Very Sturdy
Super easy to put together. Very sturdy and will fit in the small space near the toilet to allow my mom to transition from her wheelchair without installing bars on my wall. And be able to easily move to couch to help her transition there. Also will be able to remove from bathroom when not needed so I don't have those toilet ones that are attached and always there.

Excellent for broken ankle
I recently fell down a flight of stairs and broke my ankle and a couple fingers. While preparing for surgery, I searched Amazon for anything that might help while I spend 6 weeks non-weightbearing. I quickly found that getting up was a challenge unless I had something tall to push myself up with. I also live alone so it was important for me to be able to get around my home without assistance. I can more or less only use one hand and one leg so it was an extra challenge!!This looked like it could do the trick and it sure has!! I'm so happy I tried it. I bring it in the bathroom when I shower, and the rest of the time it sits next to my armchair where I'm spending 99.5% of my life. (If I wasn't unemployed due to covid I'd probably buy a few extras, but I can make do with one). Makes getting up sooooo much easier and safer than just using the arms of the chair. The extra height really helps. (The picture shows the height of this compared to my arm chair and the kitchen table next to it.)It definitely is more for pushing than pulling. It's reasonably steady/stable when pushing. I found it can tilt a bit so I tilt it before trying to stand up, so I'm not surprised by any sudden movements.

How to fix screw hole issue
This product is great. It's sturdy and really helps my mom. I returned the first one I ordered because it had the screw hole issue that people have complained about and was frustrated when the second one did as well...until I discovered that switching the pieces left to right solved the problem. The seller would save a lot of money and get better reviews if they added stickers so that the right parts would go together. I'd give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the assembly issue.

Helpful and convenient
The stand assist is very easy to assemble and provides that extra help I need to get out of a chair or any situation from sitting to standing. It doesn’t take up a lot of room, and is lightweight to move around. I ended up buying a second one because I found it so helpful and convenient.

Wobbly legs
I initially really liked this device to help me standing up after a knee replacement. The assembly was cumbersome with the lot of small screws, washers and caps. I followed the instructions and used the tools provided. The legs are wobbly because the screws on the bottom part constantly come lose no matter what. This is a serious safety risk and can lead to falls/accidents.

doesn't stand up!
Yes, this thing does the job, but it is NOT free standing. That is, if you set it up as in the picture, it'll fall over. To use it, it needs to be leaning against something. This is a bit strange. Also, the assembly directions are poor, as has been pointed out already. But you misassemble it a few times, and finally you get it right.

really sturdy
I bought this for my sister. She loves it. It really helps her to feel more steady getting up and down to transfer from her shair to wheel chair and visa versa.

Perfect for our needs
I bought this for use with a leather recliner that my mother sits in but never reclines. There is a 1.5 inch gap between the floor and bottom of recliner so this is perfect to wedge under the recliner. The weight of the recliner and snug fit make it sturdy. Depending on the level of assistance a person requires, it may not be sturdy enough if it cannot be securely wedged under the furniture item. However, it is perfect for us and I have noticed her using it more confidently every day.You will need a phillips screwdriver and your own 5/18 inch wrench to assemble. The wrench provided with the stand was way too difficult to use. I needed a thicker/sturdier wrench. Once I had the correct tools, it was very easy to assemble.
