Wonderful backing plate. I had a harbor freight sander/polisher and did not trust their backing plate so I went with this one. I used it to sand half a car down to the metal and had no issues. I cleaned it up and now use it for buffing and polishing and it is still going strong and working great.

Wore out one and this came right away......OEM and does the job

I use it to buff out my vehicles and polish them.

I've used this for a few months now and I can tell it's of higher quality than some other cheaper generic plates that I've used. It feels more durable

Fits my Harbor Frieght DA, for anyone that wants to know. It didn’t ruin the backing off my cutting pads when pulling them off. The Velcro seems a lot softer than the one that came on the Harbor Freight DA, which probably extends the pad backing since it’s not so rough. So far I’ve used it for over 4 hours and I’ve had no issues with it at all. Didn’t even have to add sharpie lines since there’s writing on the back, so you can tell if it’s spinning or not. The 5” backing plate fit 5.5” chemical guys foam pads. I bought Meguiars 5” microfiber pads as well and fit on the backing plate well also. Great buy! I’m glad I went for the more expensive backing plate. It’s worth the extra $8. I’m thinking about getting a 3” for the tighter spots on my car just because I feel like I would be in more control on those areas with something smaller. Otherwise, 5” has worked fine and actually turned out to be a really good size in my opinion.

this is a great backing plate the bolt is perfectly straight which allows the plate to turn smoothly and level without any wobble which gives an even buffing job every time. I will recommend this backing plate all day long and the Velcro grips very very well.

I spend a lot of time polishing my cars. The backing plate that came with the polisher finally gave out. Only issue with this one is if you lose (like it did) the narrow wrench that came with the polisher, then it is very difficult to unscrew the old one. I finally was able to find a wrench and make it work, though.
