Great solution for lifting bikes off garage floor
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a solution to get bikes off the floor, especially my electric bikes which weigh between 45 and 80 pounds. I came across pulley systems that required electricity or a pull rope to lift and this invention intrigued me since it was spring loaded so I gave it a try and purchased two and then I ended up purchasing 4 more for a total of six. The quality exceeded my expectations, and the installation was not as daunting as the reviews, however I am pretty handy with those kind of things. you do need to take your time during installation to figure out where you want them so it wasn’t the easiest installation, but it also wasn’t hard. I do agree with some of the online reviews that it can be difficult to pull the bikes down so make sure you get the correct 20 pound or 40 pound unit based on the weight of the item. I am strong and younger so for me it’s not a problem but I could see for someone that was older or not as strong. They could have issues bringing these down especially kids. I am very happy with this solution and even though they were expensive, you get what you pay for and I feel like the quality level matches the price tag.

So far so good....
We are getting ready for winter and needed to clear up some space in our garage. I had looked at other pulley based systems and while they are conceptually simple, trying to coordinate the tie down lines looked challenging in our space. So I thought I would try this product out.The packaging is nicely done. There are plenty of manuals and instructions on how to install the Kradl on the ceiling. There is an included template as well to save you the trouble of measuring.Installation was relatively simple. Finding a joist in the garage ceiling took a few minutes. But once done, it's just a matter of drilling a few pilot holes, getting the bolts installed and putting up the Kradl. The instructions mention that you need a bucket of water to pull the cord down. I was able to use my body weight with a little bit of 'oompf'.I also found that the seatbelt that attaches the bike to the Kradl only goes one way. I found that i was struggling to get the bike clipped in, until I realized that I had the belt on backwards. The bikes do have a little bit of spin when lifting up to the ceiling. Fortunately, our ceiling is only 10' so I'm able to guide the bike up.I don't have e-bikes or this would not work for us. Or we'd need to use two Kradls for one bike.My wife was able to use the Kradl too. We'll see how it functions long term. If there are any issues, I'll update this review but so far, so good.

Pricey but 100% worth it!
Once you get past the price you will see the quality and ease of use! The install was relatively simple and took about 15 minutes. Was a bit confusing at first to figure out how to lift and release but once I got it sorted out and practiced it a bit, the function is flawless. Super happy with this.

Great product and company
Well engineered, easy to set up and the videos are extremely helpful. We initially bought the 25 pound system but when it would not stay locked, we called customer support. This was on a weekend but we quickly got to a live person and realized we needed the 40 pound version. The Kradl team offered to convert the 25 to 40 pound and made the entire exchange process easy. Highly recommend this product and company!

Easy to install, seems to work great!
Super easy to install. I was worried after seeing some of the reviews, but it was incredibly easy. Instead of using the 5 gallon bucket, I just had my wife hook the bike on while I lifted it up and then pulled down. It works perfectly. Took me maybe 5 tries to get it where I wanted it to be so it would stay level, but no spinning and feels sturdy.

Locked up and unusable
Worked decent for a couple years, however 3 out of the 4 I purchased are locked up and unable to retract, so they are paperweights now. In general, it was extremely difficult for my wife and kids to operate these. The tension is so great they couldn’t manage to pull the bikes down (with the 25# or 40#) We have both. If your bike is super light or super heavy, I suggest a different product. Last of all, trying to balance the bikes using one Kradl was very difficult. Front wheel tips and the bike doesn’t hang straight. If using two per bike (for heavy e-bikes) good luck! Complete pain in the butt to coordinate the simultaneous lift.

Back saving bike storage
This is a life saver, or at least, a back saver. My wife’s bike weighs about 30 lbs and I’ve been hoisting it up to hang by the front tire on the wall. I’m getting older and can see a time when doing that will either be impossible or unsafe. The Kradl works as advertised. It’s very easy to use and seems very well made. Now instead of straining to lift it up and hang it on the wall, I have to pull it down a little bit to keep it from rising too fast! For me, this was well worth the investment.
