Doesn't leak!!!
I like to pack my own water filters and monitor the pressure drop so I purchased three of these to put in series. This was a replacement for a Max Water system that I have had for over a year and could NEVER get to stop leaking. I put these three together, mounted them, and turned on the water--no LEAKS! Turns out the fittings are properly machined so everything goes together smoothly but snugly and even when my water pressure is up to 60 psi there are no leaks. Also, the pressure monitors are accurate! I bought refillable 20 x 4.5 casings and packed my own filters and these BB housings hold the casings properly and direct the water through the filter material (as evidenced by the pressure drop and the quality of the water coming out). When there is no flow through the system, they all read the same pressure (as they should). I'm so happy with this system I know I've reached peak middle age.

Great Seller but Poorly Manufactured: LEAKS
UPDATE July 2024: The seller contacted me and wanted to "make it right". They did not make any excuses and offered a full refund. After I found a longer than standard PVC 1” MNPT to 3/4” adapter I decided to keep the filter. The filter has been in operation for ~6 weeks with no leaks. I increased my overall rating from 2 stars to 4 stars.ORIGINAL REVIEW, May 2024: The filter leaks from the inlet and outlet connections. This is due to poor manufacturing. The threaded holes are tapped too deep for standard fittings (in the US) to seal properly. These are pipe threads (1" FNPT Female National Pipe Thread). When screwing in a fitting, the fitting contacts the filter housing before the threads have a proper interference fit/seal (see pic of bronze fitting that leaked). The tapered threads are supposed to provide the seal not the top or bottom of the housing.I went to HomeDepot, Lowe’s, Ace, and two plumbing supply companies. I eventually found a PVC 1” MNPT to 3/4” adapter that was slightly longer then the other fitting I found. The leak has stopped for now but I lost 5 hours of my life looking for a fitting combination that would work.

Threads will not interchange
It’s a quality product but I purchased it to add to my filter system hoping I could just screw on the double filter to existing head but the thread is not the same

Used for high iron content well
I installed this on my well which I use for irrigation. We are in an area with a high iron content, so whatever the water hits gets discolored. I also got a 20k gallon pool and used the well to fill it once it was placed in the ground. The filter helped with discolored water, but it wasn't perfect. The pool guys said it made a difference in the water, but I still shouldn't drink the water. The filter is pretty dark and dirty after running 20k gallons through it, so it at least helped out a good amount. The housing is easy to install, as long as you know a little about installing plumbing pipe. The hardest part is screwing on the blue part with the filter inside - it is not light. Not easy to spin on yourself, it took me a few tries to get the threads to seat properly. A second set of hands would make it simple, but not required. I did have to dig a hole and put a bucket in the ground for my setup, it was easier than redoing more of the PVC and keeps the setup a little lower for when I finally cover it during the winter. The problem with this is I can't use the tool provided to tighten or loosen the housing. Oh well.Overall, I sure hope this helps in the long run. I will definitely be replacing the filter before summer (pool in December) when the sprinklers start up again.

Proper assembly for a leak prof installation.
This product came with a bracket and screws for mounting. I personally installed the filter in and all copper domestic water supply system. Here is a tip for those of you having leaks and the threads on the inlet and or outlet at the top. Purchase at your local home supply center some double density Teflon tape. Oatey sells this product and it is grey in color. Wrap the male threads several times in a clockwise direction. Next, apply a sealant such as Megaloc or T plus 2 and apply that onto the ale treads on top of the previously wrapped tape. Always apply sealants to the male threads and let it squish out upon assembly. Never apply to the inside fittings, the female threads as this will almost certainly introduce the sealant into the water supply. Now these threads are NPT which means the threads are tapered and the fittings get tighter as the assembly is tightened. Use a pipe wrench when assembling this type of joint and be sure to solidly support the cap with the threads that you ar tightening into. Plier, an adjustable or properly sized wrench will slip off the fitting you are tightening because a lot of torque/force is required to make this a leak tight joint. It takes some feel/experience to know how much force to apply given the size of the pipe wrench used. With NPT threads such as the ones in the cap of this product, it is possible to tighten too much and fracture the threaded boss area. If this happens, the assembler went far beyond the tightness required to make a leak prof joint. This is due to the taper as previously mentioned in this type of assembly.

Excellent quality
I bought two of these, and am impressed by the excellent quality of the product. Everything is well designed and manufactured. The housing threads are smooth and flawless. The housing itself and the manifold (top) are heavy and solid. The mounting bracket is very heavy gauge, and will never bend. The pressure gauge is large and oil-filled to prevent vibration and wear ... a real quality gauge. If you wonder about the partial fill of oil, be aware that that is normal. My only criticism was that one filter package was short a washer ... pretty minor. So I got a better quality filter, with more features, at a lower price than anywhere else I saw it.

Input/ Output Connections SUCK!
This is not the first time that I’ve done plumbing as a DIY’er. When I solder a joint, it’s usually first time, every time. But the in/out & between NPT female threads connections are in need of a major redesign! My first attempt:Housing + 1”fpt to 3/4”fpt pvc reducer + 3/4”mpt copper. A 1” nylon nipple between housings. Plus multiple rapes of Teflon tape.Result: minor leaks at each housing joints. My second attempt:Added coupling’s so the filter assemblies were removable. Swapped the PVC & Copper fittings for brass. Kept the nylon nipple between the housings. I reduced the Teflon but added pipe sealent compound.Result: major fittings leaks!Advice: SEEK THE ADVICE OF A PROFESSIONAL PLUMBER before attempting to install these!

Perfect filter
This 89$ filter is replacing a 400$ filter installed into a brand new house.. let me tell you this one is much better.. the quality is nice, I am impressed 👌 thanks 😊Only bad thing is the pressure relief button that will spray water everywhere when replacing filter... I prefer to have a valve at the bottom.. but overall this filter is amazing for the price.

A great filter cannister
Easy to Install. Threaded on 1 inch pvc fitting, attached 1 inch pipe. Done. No leaks. Hung from plywood with supplied bracket. Using a 5 micron filter on an extremely dirty well, with a pump pushing 5 thousand gallons per hour thru 1 inch pipe. Clean water. No leaks. Quality and value are great.

Quality unit 👍
Incl’s pressure gauge, removal tool & most importantly has the dual seal to seal the case to the base. Some of the cannisters do not have the 2nd seal. Very good deal & appears to be good quality
