Una gran figura
Posiblemente una de las mejores figuras realizadas por Mattel para su línea de figuras. Los puntos de articulación y el esculpido es realmente detallado. Totalmente recomendada

One of the best Hammond Collection figure
Figure difficult to find with high prices, but worth it. One of the most detailed and close figures from the film.

Great figure! But best to see what you're getting
Figure is great. However the left arm is a right. Having two right arms! This is why I don't like online shopping alot. Because you can't see what you're getting until you get it in the mail

Definitive Ceratosaurus
2022 Mattel Jurassic World Hammond Collection CeratosaurusDespite being little more than a quick joke in Jurassic Park 3, Ceratosaurus has managed to become a fan favorite of the franchise. We have gotten many figures of the horned reptile over the years, but this is the definitive Jurassic franchise Ceratosaurus, by far!Even though this is marketed under the Jurassic Park 3 logo for Hammond Collection, it is based more closely in the Jurassic World Evolution version. This is perfectly understandable, as the Jurassic Park 3 model was simply a modified Tyrannosaurus. The Evolution model is far superior, so I am very grateful that Mattel chose this version as the base. The level of detail is breathtaking. The head is covered in intricately sculpted scales. The namesake nasal horn is striated to give a keratinous look. I love the way the skin is pushed up, and the resulting ring of scales around the horn base. I appreciate how deeply sculpted the nostrils are on this one too. (I would like to see Mattel start adding just a touch of black paint inside the nostrils of these more premium figures. It would add an illusion of depth. That’s more of a wishful request than a criticism, however.) The eye is also particularly well done in this Ceratosaurus. I love how well they stand out on the figure, and the way the skin wrinkling is sculpted around them. They amazing detailing continues down onto the neck. A row of osteodermal spikes begins at the back of the skull, and continues all the way down to about half way down the tail. The neck is covered in pebbly scales, and heavy wrinkling. A few other osteoderms are scattered about as well. The underside of the throat is a bit lighter on the sculpted detail. Indeed, the entire underside of the figure is. This lighter underside detail is becoming fairly common. There is some nice detail there, but it’s more muted. It’s far from terrible, but I don’t want to see Mattel stay in this pattern. The scale work of the body is a mixture of pebbly scales, skin folds and wrinkles, and occasional bumpy osteoderms. The texture is crisp, and beautifully done. I love the way the ribs and belly are sculpted. You can see the definition of the ribs, without the animal looking emaciated. Very well done! The gorgeous detailing continues all the way to the tip of the tail. I always appreciate the rubbery tails on these figures. They feel much more sturdy than the Amber Collection, but still feel a bit like the old “real feel” Kenner figures. The arms are a bit longer than they should be. However, this was likely necessary in order to implement the articulations. They are nicely sculpted, and beautifully detailed. I’m particularly happy that it has the correct number of fingers. Although, I do wish the claws were a bit less dull. The legs look appropriately muscular, and feature excellent scale detail. The feet aren’t absurdly oversized either, which is such a relief to see!Articulations are the standard for the medium sized Hammond Collection figures, but that standard is an impressive 16 points of articulation! The jaws are double jointed, and can open very wide. The neck is divided into two joints. The first joint is just past the head. It can move side to side only slightly, but it has excellent up and down movement. The second articulation point is at the base of the neck. This one can move up, down, side to side, and can rotate. The two articulation points give the neck great flexibility. However, I do wish that first joint were a bit more flexible than it is.The arms can move forward and back. They can also swing outward wide, and flex at the elbow. The legs can move forward, back, and can pivot outward at the hips. The knee can flex forward and back, and can rotate. The ankle can flex forward and back, and can also rotate. The foot itself can also flex forward and back, and can be rotated as well! The tail can move freely in all directions, and has an excellent range of motion. The rubbery tail also features a bendable wire for added posability. The coloration is phenomenal! That vibrant red head has been a staple on Jurassic franchise Ceratosaurs since the die cast mini figure was released back in 1993! Not only is the coloration both iconic, and screen accurate, but the applications themselves are incredibly well done. This may just be the best paint application Mattel has done on a medium sized figure! Other than a tiny paint chip on one tooth of my particular figure, the paint applications are flawless. I particularly love how well the red is blended on the back of the Ceratosaurus. Nearly every common issue I have with Jurassic figures is completely absent here! All of the claws are painted beautifully. The paint applications on the eyes are flawless. The feet aren’t overly large. The tail isn’t overly short, and is fully painted from base to tip!The Hammond Collection Ceratosaurus is, far and away, my new favorite in the medium size range. This is as flawless of a figure as I can imagine ever coming from a mass produced toy line. Without any hesitation, I can promise you that this one is an absolute must own!
